What is Scott's record at know. Are they still a top 5 team? I haven't seen them play this year so I can't make an accurate assumption.

Without a question they are 3rd in the region now. I'd say the top 3 are pretty solid in GRC, Mason, and Scott and atfter that I really think it is a tossup at this point...

Yes.

A couple of observations.

 

Mason County PG Jordan Gilbert was able to offset Scott PG Smith. As I've often said, point guard play is critical. When Gilbert wasn't guarding Smith, Justin Lang did.

 

Mason County, at this early juncture, is much deeper than Scott. Scott has a solid starting five, but they seemed to get tired and the Royals made most of the plays down the stretch, finishing on a 12-3 run.

 

Setty needs to let the game come to him. With Pawsat's absence, he may feel like he has to mix it up more than usual down low; but it turns out that Mason has several big capable bodies. Nice contributions from Black, Lang, Manship, Bluford and Faris.

 

Very nice home opener; and solid play with the game on the line. No one took the game over for the Royals, but lots of contributions; nice to be able to go 10 deep.

 

Look for Scott to find a few more players that Coach Carr can rely on to spell his starters as the season progresses, and to be a very tough out come tourney time.

Just wait Papa,Come end of January or the 1st February when they get Pawsat and Josh Harris back they will be even deeper.Thats a Key starter and the 6th man off the bench.I really like this team come March very deep pretty good.
