I can never remember a 10th region team having the best five players and one of the best coaches in the region.

Does GRC have the top 5 players in the region? Anytime you go on the road and play a rival, it's going to be a tough game.

This was a 3 point game mid way through the 4th quarter. Clark Co had some spectacular plays, but the Indians played their tails off from the tip to the final buzzer. A couple of plays here and there and it could have been upset city. Clark Co is very talented... but the Indians showed they have a lot of heart.

The Cardinals overcame 18 turnovers and withstood a late rally by the Indians and held on for a 13-point victory over the hosts.

“We did just enough to win tonight,” Clark coach Scott Humphrey said afterward. “Sometimes the scoreboard isn’t totally indicative of how things go. I thought Montgomery County had an outstanding night, but our guys never did panic in the fourth quarter when they cut it close.”

 

Daniel scored nine points in the second half, including a monstrous one-handed slam. Stenzel added a dunk in the second frame.

Very well executed game plan by the Montgomery County coach. His players wanted to win combined with a rare off night shooting for GRC and it almost was an upset. The Cardinals have no chemistry problem. Being able to play perfect every night will never happen. GRC has the talent to overcome off nights and will be a tough night for anyone they play.:ylsuper:
