I've always felt that way about Murphy, even when a lot of my friends that also like UF gave me a hard time for liking him. In his own way, he was just as big a home-run threat as Harvin last year.

 

I voted for Harvin only because other teams had to spend more time preparing for him. Florida missed Murphy this year because they had no true deep ball threat. Hopefully DeBose can come back healthly and give Gators deep threat they lacked this year.

I hope Debose comes back as well, I really like his game. I heard some rumors that he wasn't progressing as well as they thought, but I think most are expecting him to be able to play in the Spring. He's not Percy, but he plays more like him than Rainey, Demps, or James IMO.

But, to summarize my opinion, Harvin was more versatile and more explosive. I believe his presence created more headaches in preparation and required more attention on the field. There's really no secret to scheming for a deep threat...you double cover with deep safety help. Harvin, on the other hand, lined up all over the field and was a threat to do everything from taking a hand-off to catching a deep ball.

 

Simply put, Florida's offense would have had a much easier time replacing Murphy and his production with Harvin in the lineup than vice versa.

Murphy was missed much more than people realize though. Tebow throws the ball much better over top of everyone than in between the Linebackers and Safeties. Louis was that guy to get past everyone and let Timmy throw it up.
