We have local schools who sell mulch in the spring for fund raisers. The mulch is the best quality I've ever bought, and the schools deliver the bags to your home. The 40lb bags sold for $4.00 per bag.

If your talking about the standard fund raising candy bar, I rarely eat the ones I buy. I buy them because I want to donate money to the organization.

I think this whole notion that selling junk food as a fund raiser is in someway wrong is a bit ridiculous. It's a candy bar...not crack.

How many people would want to buy heads of lettuce or carrot sticks from the ball teams ?

Nobody is saying it is crack. However, it is just another reason we will not see the health of our state get any better. It isn't THE reason, ... I am not saying that. But we are sending mixed messages here. That is all I am saying.

Seriously this is an issue?:ohbrother:

Just a topic. If you aren't interested, then don't participate. I was just asking opinions.

Obviously I was interested and I was implying by my post that it is absurd. Some other points about the cafeteria I would buy but not selling candy bars to make some money for your club/sport.

In the schools I work in they sale Pizza kits....and have pizza every day for breakfast and a lot of days for lunch. Pizza, milk, and corn, now that's a magic combination.

Coffee isn't bad for you in moderation. Neither is caffeine.

I agree, but isn't the same true of salt?
