Dick Lebeau Couldn't Cover Chad

Featured Replies

Who has their drawers in a wad? I just asked a question.

Ike will have him in man coverage. Where's the breakdown? Free safety will have help over the top. Troy underneath. Any blitz packages that include a corner or safety will leave Ike man on man with Chad. It's been that way for several seasons. What are we pretending? When they played Denver, Champ covered Chad in the same manner.

It's gone. Lebeau had it removed because it violated rule #6. False information

nice...

Ike has had a lot of success with Chad, but with that said Ike will have his hands full.

I wish Ike could catch. Looks like he's playing in boxing gloves.

Here ya go O Rookie......

Chad Johnson has had ONE 100 yard receiving game and 3 TD's against the Steelers since IKE TAYLORS Rookie Season in 2003. Ike follows him all over the field no matter where he lines up. That my friend is domination of a very good #1 receiver who he plays twice a year. End of discussion.

He would be an all pro if he could catch... :idunno:

Actually I think he'd be a wide receiver if he could catch.

Pretend like Ike has no help, what a joke. I know about Chad's struggles against the Steelers, it is no secret.

OR. Really is this an issue for you? Seriously? Ike will have man coverage with help over the top on most down and distances. He'll have help over the top if the formation leads it that way. If not, Ike will have single coverage on Chad. Why is that hard to believe? The Steelers won't double Chad. And for that reason, my guess is that sideline routes and underneath routes will be open for him if the Palmer has time. It's been that way for several seasons, twice a year. What in the world have you been watching?

That's the key to this game IMO. Have to get that passing game going if Ced is to kill that clock. Palmer having time as you stated is beneficial to getting that passing game going.

I certainly have not been watching Chad get shut down by man to man from Ike Taylor for the past five years.

If having a guy in man coverage with help over the top bracketing him isn't double coverage then what would consitute double coverage??

Well, I'm not sure what you have been watching then. The numbers bear it out for the most part. Will it happen Sunday? I doubt it. Maybe you should twitter/tweet Chad and ask how they've defended him the last few seasons.

Because the help isn't always on his side. There are many times that Chad will have Ike alone on him. The Bengals will no doubt try to isolate Chad on the outside with man coverage with Ike. They have always tried to get the FS to have to commit to the other side of the field. When Henry was healthy he was the deep threat that would draw the help as often as Chad. You guys act like there are gonna be a nickel assigned to him or something. Hasn't ever happened, nor will it Sunday. Wow, I'm done with this one. We have avatars to decide upon. So, if you've declared your allegiance, don't to forget to put your ideas in that thread and then we'll vote.
