Rematch of earlier game won by Ballard 7-3.

Thoughts?

Ballard has won the last two meetings. I'll take Ballard by 10 in this one.

Hope nothing 'majical - mysterious - or mythical" happens in this one.

Now that's funny.

Should be a great game. Hope it is not ruined like the Male - Manual game. Would like to see good HONEST football. Preferably not practiced trick plays. Ballard should win this close game.

Who can establish the line of scrimmage? Both teams profeiciant at throwing the football. It's a matter of who can run the ball. One thing for sure is there will be athletes galour on the field. I'll take Male 21-13

Saving it for the Rocks.

Let's hope you get there.......errrr.. lets hope we both get there...:p

Male 21-20.

Hopefully Ballard won't use their trick play either. Ran an illegal formation against Fern Creek, but it did not work. Four LM numbers and seven back rec. #'s in game. Substituted a #30 for a #68 on first down off the sideline. Guess you only get ridiculed when it works???

Look more carefully at the play Ballard ran. #30 was lined up in the tackle's usual spot, but #66 was on the line where the slot normally lines up. The play was absolutely legal. Ballard had 7 men on the line, 5 wearing ineligible numbers, and they threw to a player wearing an eligible number who started on the line.

Don't make accusations unless you are sure you can back them up.

Terp's right. Totally legal, and a good play to run against "confusion" defense where they try to cover all eligibles in man-coverage (and when they choose to DOUBLE-COVER one good receiver, they're left with no free safety).

I went over the play with the officials before the game and they verified that everything we did on the play was within the rules (that's why there was no penalty on the play).

Here's why: WHEN THE BALL WAS SNAPPED, there were 5 linemen numbers on the interior kids between ELIGIBLE receivers on both right and left. #30 simply lined up in the spot where a tackle USUALLY lines up--he was the last man on that side of the line. #66 lined up on the opposite side out where a receiver USUALLY lines up and was INSIDE another eligible receiver on the line.

FC didn't consider him eligible because of WHERE he aligned (hard for HS kids to always check numbers and be sure they're eligible or not), not because it was somehow "illegal."

By the way, FC's linebacker did an EXCELLENT job recognizing it was a pass (mainly because we forgot to execute the run fake!) and covered the kid. They ALSO did an extremely good job with their double-coverage on our excellent receiver (held him to only 4 catches). Fortunately for us, our run game (especially our O-Line) did a TREMENDOUS job against a MUCH bigger yet VERY athletic D-line.

If we'd had to rely on a 'gadget play' or the passing game to beat a group of INCREDIBLY talented athletes like at Fern Creek, it couldn't have happened. It took being able to mix up plays in our power/misdirection run game to win.

Good luck to both teams.
