The Marlins averaged over 18,000 fans a game this year. That's only 3,000 less than Cincinnati, and the Reds don't have an NBA team to compete with for 2 months. The new stadium will definitely help with the new attendance.

ACTUALLY I was talking about the Marlins until people came in with silly statements. I just felt the need to point out that if I was a fan of a Cincy team I probably wouldn't make fun of others attendance issues.

I think the main problem is just years of losing. I'm sure the economy plays a part, I know it does for me, but I think if the Reds started putting a winning product on the field on a consistent basis the fans would return.

The lack of putting a winner on the field. If they are playing badly why not sit in the A/C at your home where you have a reclining seat and the beer isn't 7 bucks. In just about any city if you can put a consistant winner on the field you'll sell tickets.

That's pretty much what I figured as well. I'm not complaining though...it makes it easy for me to get good tickets when the Marlins come to town!

I'm facing an internal debate right now on whether or not I should make a trip to Landshark before they move.

I heard they were changing the name of the team from the Florida Marlins to the Miami Marlins starting next season. Don't know why the change unless it's about a new beginning with the new stadium.

The change was part of the deal for the city to pay for the ball park. And I'm pretty sure the name change isn't until '12.

I'm facing an internal debate right now on whether or not I should make a trip to Landshark before they move.

Unless your planning April, May, or early June, wait. July and August games in Landshark are miserable, IMHO. I've not been there since it was still called Joe Robbie, but the weather is the weather.
