Polson to me was the smartest, headiest player I watched all year last year and has a knack for drawing fouls.

 

No argument from me about Polson's ability as a basketball player. I coach in the 12th region and he lit us up last season - twice. IMO he is not only the best guard in the region, but the best all around player. I'm suggesting that he is not getting looks from D1 schools because he is to small to play shooting guard at that level. Unless he has grown since the last time I saw him play, he is only 5'11'' maybe 6'0''.

I really hope the young man gets a chance to play at the D1 level

I will certainly agree that there is talent around the state.

 

In my post, I specifically mentioned that these were some of the ones being looked at. I listed those names because I know that they have college visits coming up in the very near future. I only know the players that I know. Sorry about that.

 

As for your comment about it being who the parents are aligned with, OF COURSE IT IS! The parents of the ones mentioned have made a point to get their sons noticed. If you are not going to bust your butt getting your kid some attention, who will? :confused:

 

In the end, I hope that as many KY players as possible get to pursue their dreams of playing ball in college. Part of the way that happens, is for the parents to make an active effort (time & money).

 

 

There is a thread in General Discussion about the correlation between financial resources and sports success. It would be interesting to see everyone's thoughts on this.

imo i think watts is the best player in the 12th region i dont want to take anything away from polsen but watts has such a clean stroke and can score on any defense in the state

 

Polson and Watts are different players. Both are very good and both will be fun to watch this year.

I haven't seen anything on the other Johnson brother from Holmes. What's the word on him?
