Rainy(est) season?

Featured Replies

2002. It rained almost every game! If it wasn't raining during the game it at least rained the night before or day of. It really hurt our speed that year. And it was really the first year the Tony Franklin offense was bieng used in High School so it hurt our entire offense as a whole.

2002 stands out to me. Not because it rained a lot throughout the season, but because of a stretch in the playoffs when it rained a lot and on a lot of days. Breathitt County played Belfry in the region finals that year and their field was in as bad a shape as any I've ever seen. Our QB ran off tackle early in the game and when he got up the right side of his body was literally covered in mud. The field looked like pig pen.

The fact was that there was a substantial amount of rain for about a week straight, and when you're that late in the season the field is already torn up, and you have to practice during the week...it was just one of those things. I've never seen anything comparable to that.

It has rained EVERY single Friday that Warren East has played. It may not have rained during the game, but for 9 games, it has rained during every Friday.

I agree. I feel like we live in Vietnam.

My corn & beans didn't do any good this year because of the rain. May try rice paddies & bamboo shoots next season.lol

Mud bowl every week so far. But, we'll just have to take what the good Lord gives us and rejoice in it.

I played for Carroll County in 1983. We actually cancelled a home game with Dayton as our end zone was under water from hard rains that week.

2002 (I think) Mason County played Russell but the game was moved to Putnam because The Hank was underwater.

The year after that was cold - Mason County at Highlands in the state semis was the coldest game I've ever sat through.

I think it was the final home game of 2006, Johnson Central at Mason County. It rained all week, plus district soccer games were held there. I distinctly remember a punt that hit the ground nose down and stuck.

But overall, this has been the wettest season I can remember.

The forecast for next Friday is also calling for more rain.:irked:
