October 19, 200917 yr I thought it was one of the worse BBM I have ever seen. I was bored after a few minutes of listening to Calipari and the scrimmage was more like a glorified layup line.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I personally thought the whole night was symbolic of a program resurrecting itself from the ashes to once again declare domination over college basketball, but that's just me

When he talked about excitement, I expected more than a speech and a horrible scrimmage.
October 19, 200917 yr I would agree with the symbolism but the actual action of the night was boring. When he talked about excitement, I expected more than a speech and a horrible scrimmage. Where you there or watched on t.v.?
October 19, 200917 yr Where you there or watched on t.v.? You read my mind, I was just about to type this.
October 19, 200917 yr Where you there or watched on t.v.? TV with my father, son, aunt and uncle. I will admit that the atmosphere may be the difference from my view and those in attendance. I hear the volume of the crowd was amazing. On tv, it was boring. All that was missing was Obama's columns in the background and a promise to reform health care without raising taxes on anyone below $250,000.
October 19, 200917 yr It was 1,000,000 time better in person than t.v. WKYT somehow managed to suck the atmosphere out of it. In person, it was off the chain, IMO.

I agree.:thumb: Could have easily been the difference in our views.:thumb: But the scrimmage was still horrible. Except I did enjoy Harrelson bombing all the 3's from the stalls of Rupp Arena.

October 20, 200917 yr I watched it on TV. Like many on here, I'm a huge UK fan. But I was bored. The speech was too long for me. It was great & hit every aspect -- just too long. The scrimmage was alright, but there was no defense at all. Granted, it is a show & also the 1st "practice." I loved it, but thought it was a little too long & kinda boring. But then again, I've been ready for some game action for about 4 months. :thumb:
October 20, 200917 yr I agree with the TV crowd. Just a bunch of ra ra ra whatever. I am sure it was a lot better live.
