Thanks, I really didn't know that much about the schools they were playing and I know it doesn't get you totally prepared for the playoffs if you not playing a full game.

 

That is a valid concern that many people have with FC. I don’t foresee the offense playing an entire game until the semifinals, but this is pretty much the same offense from last year’s team so experience shouldn’t be a major issue. I honestly don’t see them being challenged until the semis.

Ft. Campbell’s schedule passes the look test, it's not their fault those teams aren’t up to par...

They are going to play Fort Knox because they are the only two military high schools in the U.S. They have traditionally played Paducah Tilghman over the past five or six years and prior to reclassification PT was one of the better WKY teams. Of course they have to play Todd, Hancock, and OC who has been one of the best 2A teams in WKY. Those five games are pretty much a lock over the past five or six years.

 

That leaves five games to schedule. Last year they played one 1A team, one 2A teams, one 3A team, and two 4A teams. This year they replaced those teams with two 3A (TN) teams and three 5A teams.

 

The teams they added this year were:

 

CPA, who went 9-4 last year and had won two state championships this decade.

Pearl Cohn, who was one year removed from two straight TN semifinal appearances.

Kenwood, a Clarksville TN 5A team 10 minutes south of Ft Campbell.

Hopkinsville, a 5A team 15 minutes up the road that have had some decent teams in the past.

Warren Central, another 5A team that was 5-1 going into the game with FC.

 

So with all that said I wouldn’t say FC is scheduling weak teams, they are just that good and some of the teams on their schedule are not having the success this year they have traditionally had.

 

Sure I would like to see them play Bowling Green or Highlands this year, but I honestly have no idea who they tried to schedule or didn’t try to schedule. There are obviously a lot of factors that go into working out game contracts and there are only a couple of people who can answer who FC tried to schedule or didn’t try to schedule and I’m not one of them.

 

Ft Campbell IMO is that good. It will take a big let down and the opponent being sky high for them to be defeated this year. And I don't think with the atmosphere that these kids have grown up in that will happen. I was in the military for many years with three kids and it's different. The military kid is a little tougher. The schedule FC plays is better then most in the state. All you have to do is compare strength of schedules. By the way this team defeats everyone makes it look like thay arn't playing a tough opponent. I'm sure when some of these teams have lined up across from FC the past couple years have been :scared:. At that point you are already defeated. Good luck Ft Campbell the rest of the season. When you defeat teams the way FC does. You will get talk like that. Don't listen to that crap. It will all play it's self out in time. And I'm sure some will still complain about how FC didn't have to play anyone till the last game. ect ect. DON'T respond to that stuff. Let the kids show it on the field each week.:ylsuper:

You can't put a gun to people's heads and make them schedule you. Mayfield has had this problem for years. Trigg County went through it as well. Given what Fort Campbell is doing to teams, I imagine their phones aren't ringing off the hook of potential suitors for the future schedule. If you can't get quality teams to fill your schedule, you might as well schedule close to home, and that's what Fort Campbell has done.

I think The Scribe gave the best answer to the schedule question of Fort Campbell's "easy schedule".

 

I do think an interesting possible future matchup for Fort Campbell is Henry County in TN, it's about a two hour trip, but they're a powerful 5A team in TN that could be an interesting game for the Falcons.

 

With that said, having all of us on here scheduling the games for these teams is probably much easier than it actually is.
