jrjohnson Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Final Another outstanding performance by the Falcons
loveoffootball Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Hooah!!! Thought this was going to be a closer game, but definitely not even close!!! FC could do just about whatever they wanted to do on Hancock. Go Falcons!!!
tsyoung7 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 This Fc Falcon team is the real deal...I thought they were really good last year but I am thinking this could be the best Fc yet!!!! Go Falcons.....I guess you wish you were a Falcon!!!!!!!!!
FC Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Fort Campbell completely dominated again. It took FC four offensive plays and one punt return to score 35 points. The only real hiccup was a roughing the kicker penalty which gave Hancock a first down and they subsequently scored their only TD of the game. Great job Falcons
FalconBacker Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Expected a little more from Hancock after they handled O'Cath last week. Really looking forward to the trip to Owensboro, nothing like watching the Falcons run wild on our former Achilles heel!
billwilliams70 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 I was pleasantly surprised with this performance, I honestly thought it was going to be much closer than it was.....so much for my football acumen. Great job by a terrific FC Falcon team! Later.
School Yard Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 I know Ft. C is very good but why the apparently week schedule? They've had got one of the best teams in the state for a while now and every game seems to be a 50 point win. Is it the location of the school or what?
FC Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 I know Ft. C is very good but why the apparently week schedule? They've had got one of the best teams in the state for a while now and every game seems to be a 50 point win. Is it the location of the school or what? They are going to play Fort Knox because they are the only two military high schools in the U.S. They have traditionally played Paducah Tilghman over the past five or six years and prior to reclassification PT was one of the better WKY teams. Of course they have to play Todd, Hancock, and OC who has been one of the best 2A teams in WKY. Those five games are pretty much a lock over the past five or six years. That leaves five games to schedule. Last year they played one 1A team, one 2A teams, one 3A team, and two 4A teams. This year they replaced those teams with two 3A (TN) teams and three 5A teams. The teams they added this year were: CPA, who went 9-4 last year and had won two state championships this decade. Pearl Cohn, who was one year removed from two straight TN semifinal appearances. Kenwood, a Clarksville TN 5A team 10 minutes south of Ft Campbell. Hopkinsville, a 5A team 15 minutes up the road that have had some decent teams in the past. Warren Central, another 5A team that was 5-1 going into the game with FC. So with all that said I wouldn’t say FC is scheduling weak teams, they are just that good and some of the teams on their schedule are not having the success this year they have traditionally had. Sure I would like to see them play Bowling Green or Highlands this year, but I honestly have no idea who they tried to schedule or didn’t try to schedule. There are obviously a lot of factors that go into working out game contracts and there are only a couple of people who can answer who FC tried to schedule or didn’t try to schedule and I’m not one of them.

I was about to disagree with your statement about schedule until I looked it up and you are correct. Only 2 teams have winning or "break even" records to this point. But I don't think that's the fault of Ft. Campbell. It is as extreme "border" as you can get and still be in KY so it makes scheduling difficult. They also can't be blamed for District foes (as can anybody). I don't think it dampens the accomplishments of the Falcons nor does it effect their ability to win (see last two seasons). :thumb:

That's the key point I believe. Boyle found this out to because Johnson Central had a slow start and no one would have thought the second weakest team record wise on the Rebels schedule would be Danville. It happens sometimes. :thumb:

FalconBacker Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 FC just seems to have some lag in their scheduling. When this year's schedule was set, most of those five additional teams were good to superior. By the time scheduling becomes reality some of those teams had declined. FC should have never stopped playing Lone Oak. The last three seasons could have provided matchups for the ages between the Flash and the Falcons. Too many superstars on both teams over the last three years to mention by name, but included many All-State and one Mr. Football. Trust me, not many 2A - 4A KY teams that would have wanted to play a road game at Pearl Cohn, TN. Inner city Nashville school right in the middle of the 'hood which provided a very physical game in a challenging environment.
jrjohnson Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 TKenwood, a Clarksville TN 5A team 10 minutes south of Ft Campbell. Kenwood had also made it pretty deep into the TN playoffs when this two game series was put in writing a little over a year ago. They just haven't doen real well since then.
School Yard Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Thanks, I really didn't know that much about the schools they were playing and I know it doesn't get you totally prepared for the playoffs if you not playing a full game.
