Until Florida loses is there anyway Alabama can take over the #1 spot?

No way any voters will let that happen.

What do you guys see in Alabama that makes them better than Florida in your mind? I'm not trying to sound like a cry baby or anything, just curious.

I think Florida is better in every aspect, so I have no clue what they're seeing.

For me Alabama has looked more impressive thus far this season just from a pure feel and look test. Maybe Florida has yet to fire on all cylinders and they will turn it on like they did the second part of the year last season. I really think losing Louis Murphy and Percy Harvin set back the Florida offense. Defensively they are just as impressive.

Here are my thoughts on the UF/Bama debate:

I think both teams have outstanding defenses. I think UF has the better overall talent. But, I think that Alabama has better defensive coaching and a little better chemistry. I think that they are a virtual tie in this category overall though.

UF's defense is built to just overmatch opponents. They make teams play really close to the vest offensively, and capitalize on mistakes better than anyone.

To me, Alabama adapts to their opponents as the game goes along. Teams have been able to move the ball a bit early in the game on them, but as the game goes along they just shut everything down. As crazy as it is to say it, I think they are better in the Turnover department than UF. As I said, I think UF makes hay off of their opponents mistakes, where as Bama forces you to make a mistake. They have a very aggresive style and work as a team to create havoc.

Offfensively is the difference to me. Both have more than capable running attacks, as the stats obviously show. I'd probably take UF's ground game over Bama's, but both are elite IMO. But, UF still hasn't shown ability to stretch the field with the passing game. To me, that was the biggest advantage UF had on Bama last season, and it showed in the SEC title game. UF could pass, Bama couldn't. I don't think UF could beat Alabama with the passing game they have right now. McElroy isn't a great QB yet, but he can hit the big plays in the passing game that should give Ingram and Co. room to move.

I still think that end the end UF will get it done though, because of Tebow. He will get his WR more involved down the field as the season goes along. But, if UF doesn't gain a passing attack then I think Bama has a huge advantage going in to the game.

Agree with Big Spikes have not seen what makes Bama better. The difference is Florida D and Tim Tebow. If Gators not in the mix Bama best team in the country but only problem Gators are in the mix. GO GATORS.
