How did Taylor County look? Garrard County has Somerset and Taylor coming up in back-to-back weeks.

Taylor was missing some players to the flu according to radio. QB is pretty nice player, threw some picks but was elusive and did make some nice thows tonight.

Makes sense. I believe they missed the last 3-4 days of school this week.

I think Taylor had some players out tonight. Their quarterback is pretty good. He kept a lot of plays alive with his speed and broke some tackles as well. The Cardinals moved the ball at times against Somerset but the Briar Jumpers started jumping their short routes and picked off 4 passes. Somerset had very little trouble moving the ball on the ground or through the air. It was 48-0 at the half, both scores were on Somerset's reserves with most of Taylor County's starters in the game.

Sets up what could be the district title game this Friday vs Garrard County.

The new coach is doing a phenomenal job with the Jumpers! They have really responded to him. They absolutely are talented, but he is pushing all the right buttons. They look like a team that could have a very deep run in the postseason!

I did find it somewhat humorous from a friend of mine at that game, that some of the Somerset fans were upset with the INT return for a TD that was called back due to illegal participation. Some apparently asked the official if he was 'proud' of himself making that call. Well, ... since the player came onto the field from the sideline during the play, the right call was made. I was told that the Somerset coaches were very classy and understood the call completely, but it cracks me up that in a game like this, an official still ticks off the crowd, .... with the right call!

I may try to make the Somerset vs Garrard game in Somerset this friday. I think it could be a pretty exciting game. :thumb:
