I agree you can never count them out. That said, I always see them at least twice a year. And this years team dose not look as good as the past 3 years. IMO.

 

I haven't seen them yet but based on what I know of their personnel and how they are doing against teams I have seen, I think they are down from the past few years. They are playing a sophomore at QB and that is almost always a sign of rebuilding. It is going to be interesting watching their scores as they go through district play the next few weeks. I don't think their offense is explosive but my guess is their defense is going to shut some people down. We will know a lot more about NCC's potential in 2A this year in 2-3 weeks.

I would have to say they would be competitive against almost any team in the state. The big win over Warren Central bolsters that argument. Right now, they have to be the most prohibitive favorite in any class to win the state title.

Nope. Highlands is clearly the favorite in 5A. But IMO Ft. Campbell is more dominant in 2A than Highlands is in 5A. I think it is possible someone could beat Highlands...highly, highly unlikely but possible. I don't think there is any chance anyone in 2A can beat Ft. Campbell this year.

New Cath has played Dixie, and Cov. Cath. Both top 10 in 5a. Ryle and S.K. both top ten in 6a. It dosn't get much tougher than that. But I agree with you if F.C. dosn't win 2a it will be a big upset.

It will be interesting seeing the scores this week in the 2A top ten. Six of the top ten are playing higher class and/or highly ranked opponents this week.

Fort Campbell is off this Friday, next Friday starts three weeks of district games against Todd Central, Hancock County, and Owensboro Catholic and following it all up with a game against local 5A team Hopkinsville.

The only thing that could affect Fort Campbell is the fact that their starters haven't played a full 4 quarters.

I think with the exception of ST X, Trinity, and Fort Thomas Highlands they can play with anyone.

Absolutely...the road to Bowling Green from the East goes through Corbin (even though District 7 gets home field advantage this year).

 

Ft. Campbell is as much a favorite to win 2A as Highlands is 5A. But it's more fun to play the games out, don't you think ?

I believe Prestonsburg may be the favorite from the east this year. Corbin and Pburg are relatively even with Prestonsburg having home field advantage this time around. Newport Central Catholic will have a big say in it as they are the champs until one of us proves we can beat them. Their record does not fool me at all.

I believe that it is Corbin v. Ft. Campbell this year, and it will be an upset if it is different. Though I hope that I am wrong.

Ft Campbell, imo, would be the favorite to win 3a, just like they are 2a. They would be right up there with Boyle and Bell in 4a, as well, possibly even a slight favorite over Bell and about on even turk with Boyle. They would likely be a Top 3-5 team in 5a. Highlands would be the only 5a team that would be much of a favorite over them and they could play with Highlands as well if not better than most the others, simply because of there athleticism. BGreen and JHardin would be a great game against Ft Campbell. I think the Falcons would beat the next best 5a teams. In 6a, they would be behind the big 2 and prob 3 to 4 other teams, but, they'd be right in the thick of things after the Top 2. If behind, just slightly behind..
