Wow thats a good Bengals fan hoping that the Bengals do lose 10 or more games. I mean do you honestly think that will get Mike Brown to change things? I mean seriously? The guy has showed that he is not going to change his ways. So either just got to learn to deal with it and hope the team does well in spite of him, or just go find another team to root for.

 

I mean people on here are letting their hate for Mike Brown, not let them see that the Bengals actually have a pretty good team this year. They have talent on both sides of the ball. Something that they didn't even have in 2005, and instead of wanting them to do good. We have some people who would be just as happy if they lose ten games or more? I mean WOW that is just crazy IMO.

 

As for Palmer he is on pace for 32. However you really shouldnt count the 2 from the first week of the season. One was just a great play by Bailey, and the other came on a hail mary throw at the end of the game. Now yesterday that was just bad throws by Palmer. Its funny how Cincinnati fans think well if someone is not doing everything perfect, then he just is no good anymore. Yeah right now I admit he is not with the elite QB's anymore. You all need to realize he played 4 games last season, and last season was with receivers who he had timing and a bad line. Then this year he was not there for the preseason. No QB just comes right back into it and just does great. I mean even Peyton Manning last year started slower than normal after his knee problem and missing the preseason. Also look at Tom Brady, he has not played elite yet this year. It takes time to get back into the rhythm of things people, mistakes do happen.

I can choose to cheer on the Bengals frachise however I want. I predict that if they are terrible this year and people don't put money back into the organization that Brown will have to make a move. If 10,000 more people give up their seats and there isn't suite revenue he will have to. Kind of like when people stopped going and he hired Marvin. I mean it almost might be the same.

I made the comment in another thread that one thing we could take from week 1 was that the Bengals D would keep them in almost every game this year. I think this game completely validated my claim. The D looked very good again.

 

I think next week is the perfect time to play the Steelers with Polamalu being out. He seems to just kill Palmer every year. While I don't want to go as far as predicting a Bengals win, I wouldn't be too shocked if they did come out with a victory. Benson and the D will have to keep it up though.

 

The D does look pretty impressive and they are getting Pittsburgh home at seemingly the right time. It's a big week for them. If they lose they are in trouble b/c they'll be down by essentially 2 games to 2 division teams.

See this is one thing I have never understood with some of your all's arguments. I mean some of you all talk about how bad the team is run, how bad the players are usually (not this year). and just a bad team all together and bad coaches. Yet you expect the QB to able to still do great, even though you all basically think that the team as a whole as bad. You act like he should still do as good as these other QB's who you think have good franchises? I mean you really think a Peyton Manning would have put up great numbers still in 2007 behind a bad line and no running game? Or the same thing last year. Or basically any of the top QB's. It will be a long hard road for the Bengals, but after today's performance I think they have a shot at the playoffs. They're in a tough division though.

You didn't really answer my question now did you? I said you all put down the franchise of the Bengals as whole, and talk how bad they are. Yet you expect the QB to still just be great? I mean seriously what sense does that make? Do you really think Manning would have made this team much better in say 2007? With no running game, a horrible line and a bad defense? You all talk about these other QB's, however they are also playing on franchises that you all think are good franchises. So I mean you can't compare them at the same levels then, and expect the one that you think is on the bad franchise to still do as good. Then if he doesn't say he is washed up or just not as good anymore.

 

Most of you might not want to believe this, but you probably could have put ANY QB on the Bengals and their numbers would have went down every year from 2005 as well. The team since 2005 just went down hill in every way, this is the first year again that this team actually has the talent again. So this is the year we should see exactly where Palmer stands. Especially by midseason when all the rust should be gone.
