September 16, 200917 yr Figured I'd start a thread for week two. Here is my question...going forward, do you like any of these TE's better than Visanthe Schiancoe? Benjamin Watson Todd Heap Robert Royal Doubtful Ben Watson has a game even close to the one he had in week 1 again this season but I've never seen Favre as a huge TE shooter so I wouldn't put too much stock in Schiancoe. I'll take Watson out of those 4 purely on how week 1 went. Brady is obviously looking his way as many teams pay a lot of attention to Welker and Moss.
September 16, 200917 yr What to do this week? I have the number one scoring QB (Drew Brees) going up against the number one scoring defense (Eagles). Guess I will start them both.
September 16, 200917 yr Author What to do this week? I have the number one scoring QB (Drew Brees) going up against the number one scoring defense (Eagles). Guess I will start them both. That is the exact same situation as my league...that owner also had All Day...as you can guess he had a good week. There are several good match ups this week among D's that aren't as widely owned. In my league Wash D wasn't owned and they are playing the Rams. Personally I would look for a different D this week.
September 16, 200917 yr Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about doing. I was going to wait until the waivers went through and find a defense for this week.
September 16, 200917 yr Author Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about doing. I was going to wait until the waivers went through and find a defense for this week.I'd do it. This year there is NOTHING on our waivers at RB and WR. So I've been rolling with match ups on D and now I just added Todd Heap...might play match ups @ TE as well.
September 16, 200917 yr If healthy, Todd Heap is a no brainer for me. There's no competition from his WR's for looks and young QB's like to use their TE's. I'd rate Watson and Shiancoe the same. Neither are going to be primary targets and neither are going to be dependable on a weekly basis, but either is capable of having a strong performance (like Watson last week or like Shiancoe in Week 16 last year...7 catches, 136 yards, 2 TD). I wouldn't consider Royal. I'd rate them like this... 1. Heap 2. Shiancoe 3. Watson 4. Royal Watson has never played a full season. His career year was in 2006 when he caught 49 passes for 643 yards and 3 TD. In the two years since Welker and Moss arrived, he's caught 58 passes for 598 and 8 TD...six of those came in Brady's 50 TD season. Considering Watson has already had a big game, I like Shiancoe's odds better for the rest of the season. Favre has always utilized his TE's, especially in the red zone and there's not as much competition from his WR's to take those looks away. I like him better than Watson. Plus, Shiancoe has never missed a game. But, I like Heap better than both for upside and for consistent production on a weekly basis.

Before I read this I decided adding Heap would be more valuable to my roster than having Camarillo on it. As you said...to me Heap's upside is tremendous especially with the way Flacco looked on Sunday. Until I need the roster spot I think I'm going totally against my beliefs and keeping both Shiancoe and Heap on my team. As far as this week...who do you like? I'm leaning towards Heap as last year San Diego gave up quite a few points to TE's and it seems like you would agree with that assessment.

I was going to wait until the waivers went through and find a defense for this week.Just thought of another D that might be on your waivers/ Atlanta's D gets Carolina at home and with Delhomme they should get a few turnovers...in Yahoo they are owned by less than half of leagues.
September 16, 200917 yr Usually dont ask for advice, I just stink it up on my own but ............ Do I start, Buckhalter, Correll DEN RB or Chris Wells RB Arizona?
September 16, 200917 yr Usually dont ask for advice, I just stink it up on my own but ............ Do I start, Buckhalter, Correll DEN RB or Chris Wells RB Arizona? Are you playing me? If so, I'd be happy to answer that question.
September 16, 200917 yr Trade dilemma: A friend of mine has been offered Braylon Edwards and Steven Jackson for Chris Johnson. Should he take it? I don't know for sure, as you obviously hope Jackson and Edwards both return to previous form. Plus: My buddy is very thin at WR.
September 16, 200917 yr Author Usually dont ask for advice, I just stink it up on my own but ............ Do I start, Buckhalter, Correll DEN RB or Chris Wells RB Arizona? For starters, I wouldn't expect much out of either one of them. For right now I think that Arizona wants to bring Beanie along slowly and I wouldn't expect much more than what he did last week. Buckhalter will have more of an opportunity to do something and they are against Cleveland who All Day just ran all over (I'm in no way comparing Buckhalter to All Day).

I could see it either way, but the Chargers performance vs. TE's last year, combined with the fact that Zach Miller had a strong game in Week One is definitely support for playing Heap. The Vikes also get another easy game (Detroit, I think), so Shiancoe should have a good opportunity as well. I like the idea of just keeping them both until something more obvious comes along.

Usually to answer definitively I'd have to know the scoring format and what the rest of his line up looks like? BUT in this case I'd take it. I like Jackson slightly better than Johnson anyways...so the addition of Edwards would just sweeten it.
