The Bracken County followers must have quit this site, don't hear anything from them in any of the forums anymore, including football or basketball, used to be quite a few on here.

Bracken Co. 14-13.

Why is this such a problem? This person is making an honest prediction about how they think this game will end. Both teams are winless...I realize Ludlow traditionally has the upper hand but there is no reason to ridicule someone for having a little faith in their team.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. :)

Thank you kydlineguy. True supporters of Bracken do have faith in their team. The reason most are probably not responding lately is we are shaking our heads at the negative comments being posted which I don't want to be a part of.

Ludlow is ranked 183 in the state while Bracken is ranked 217 incase that peaks anyones interest.

I have not scene Ludlow or Bracken play this year. My gut feeling tells me to go with Ludlow.

Best of luck to both teams!

How many teams are there in the state of Kentucky?

You know what your right, honest predictions is the way to go on here for now on. No more bias predictions to any certain programs. :thumb:

I'm always fascinated by these games...so many times, these games are as intense, and as exciting as the "X vs. T" games. No, I'm not saying Ludlow or Bracken is as good as an X or a T...just that games like this are intriguing. Someone (Bracken: 21 straight losses or Ludlow: 3 straight losses) will receive a "get well" card, and it may be the inspirational moment that molds a team, serves as a building block, and serves as the beginning of a brighter future. These teams won't stay "down" forever...and someone may take the step towards that better future tomorrow night.

Remember, Ludlow and Bracken fans: A few years from now, when one (or both) of these teams are having winning seasons, YOU can proudly point to the fact that YOU "remember when..."

Best of luck to both teams! I'll be broadcasting another "O-fer" game Friday as South Oldham (19 straight losses) plays Waggener (15 consecutive losses)...

Nice post however I think you are wrong on some things. You make it sound like Ludlow has been down for years or something? I mean Ludlow has made the playoffs 4 out of the last 6 years. Ludlow last year made the playoffs and won a playoff game. Ludlow and Beechwood was the only two teams out of their district to win playoff games. So yeah Ludlow is 0 and 2, but the program as a whole is not down and has not been down really since 2002. Its a very nice post and I get the point you were trying to make. However I just don't think you realized that Ludlow as a program is not down. So this won't be a remember when game if Ludlow won. However it would be for Bracken and a big one for their program if they can pull off the win.

In re-reading my post, I see what you're saying, and I certainly didn't mean to paint some dismal picture of the Panthers. I know better. I didn't really mean to paint a broad brushstroke and insinuate that Ludlow and Bracken were necessarily on the same level right now. I'm actually very familiar with the fact that recent Ludlow teams have had some success...and the win over Eminence in the playoffs last year was pretty nice. (Eminence finished 8-3 last year) But I would argue that a team that has had just one winning season in the last 8 seasons, including seasons of 0-9, 0-10, and 0-10 during that stretch, and whose five victories last year included wins over Dayton (2-9) by just one point, Pendleton County (0-11) by just one point, and Bishop Brossert (0-10) is not exactly "up", either, and that's my point: these are two programs that are trying to establish themselves as good programs, which means having more to point to over an 8+ season period than just a 15 point first round playoff win over Eminence in 2008. Ludlow's record during that time (including this year) is 29-67, with a 1-3 mark in the playoffs.

As for making the playoffs four times in the past six years...well, with Bishop Brossart and Walton-Verona in the mix, honestly, that really shouldn't have been too terribly difficult in Ludlow's district.

Definitely, this game means something a bit different for Bracken...Bracken County needs A WIN to stop THE SLIDE....only when they get that first win to end the looonnnggg losing streak, can they start to build. But I also think Ludlow needs this win. I mean no disrespect at all to the Panthers; but they need to win this game to start to raise their program to the next level.

That's what I was trying to say; sorry if it came off as disrespectful to the Panthers. That wasn't my intent at all. My apologies to any Ludlow fans who may have felt I was 'dissing them.

No way they beat Nicholas County, their best chances were against BB and then Ludlow and Pendleton County at home. To be shut out 38-0 against a team that has had football less than you by several years is unacceptable

If these were the potential wins the Polar Bears are likely in trouble. I can see thinking that Brossart might have been the game, but Ludlow is generally small but tough and Pendleton big and capable against smaller opponents. It looks like there are a couple of games late in the season that could find a team looking past the Bears, but I doubt that it will be one of the Panther squads.

All I am saying is that people were acting as if it were absurd to think that Bracken could be Ludlow...just as people will act like it is absurd for Ludlow to beat Beechwood. If there is absolutely no chance whatsoever for a team to win, no reason for the fans to think their team can win, no reason for the players to play their hardest and try to achieve a goal, then why play?

A few things here I did say since 2002 Ludlow has not been down. Ludlow since 2002 has a 29-38 record, which yeah is not great but not horrible either. You have to realize for small school like a Ludlow, Dayton, etc. that you go through cycles. Its hard for programs like this to sustain a level of success year in and year out. Not to many kids to choose from, and then you have kids who grow up in your system and then parents decide to send them to a bigger school for high school. So close to a .500 record since 2002 and four playoff appearances is not to bad. Also you seem to forget that Brossart and Walton was not in the district during this whole time. 2 of the playoff appearances came when NCC and Holy Cross was still in the district. A lot of people considered that the hardest district in the State for any class during that time. Yet Ludlow twice during this span made the playoffs, which is an accomplishment in itself.

Now I do agree Ludlow needs this win, but I disagree for why. Ludlow needs this win, because any win is important. But I don't see how you can say a win like this could help take them to the next level. This is a game in all honesty Ludlow is suppose to win. Beaten Bracken is not going to be a game that takes them to the next level. This is just another game more than anything for Ludlow, but it is important in a sense because every game is important to win. I just don't think it would be as huge and monumental win as you say. Now beating a Beechwood would be a huge win and something that would be considered as a step in taking it to the next level for Ludlow. For Bracken it would be though a huge thing for their program if they beat Ludlow. I been on a team with long losing streak before. I played for Ludlow during those losing years at the beginning of the decade, and when we finally broke that losing streak, and then we went on to have a good season and made the playoffs in that tough district. So that game that broke the losing streak is a game you would say as do you remember when...It would be the same for Bracken if they win this game and break their streak. I just disagree with you on how big you think it is for Ludlow. I mean yes EVERY GAME is a big game and important to win. However I just don't agree with how you are making it sound.

You are right anything is possible, and ANY team can win on a given night. However there is a difference between a honest opinion and prediction, and a bias opinion and prediction. If someone gives a bias opinion it definitely leaves room for to people to put down that bias opinion because it is not based on who they honestly think will win. In your post you talk about how we shouldn't put someone down who gives a honest prediction. However I see no reason to believe that is a honest opinion. Definitely seems like more of a bias opinion, because my guess is they might not have seen either team play and is just picking the team who he wants to win and doesn't know much about either. Which is a bias opinion, and just more wishful thinking. Which my post even stated that must be some wishful thinking there, it did not say anything about it being impossible. So I see nothing wrong with what I said back to that. Also if a player ever goes into a game thinking its just impossible, and then don't play their hardest. Then well maybe they shouldn't be playing sports anyways. As a player you should always have faith NO MATTER WHAT.

Now back to this actual game. I do think Ludlow will win by a pretty good margin. I don't think Bracken will be able to do much on offense against Ludlow's defense, and Ludlow's offense showed some signs of life last week. I think the offense will once again get better this week, and have a very nice game.

Well my honest opinion, and I have seen both teams play all of their games, is that if Ludlow does not tackle (like they didn't against Carroll) and Bracken takes advantage of mistakes they could very easily win this game. :thumb:
