I agree about the sound system and had a discussion with Mr. Demler (AD) right after the game about it. I am contacting a good friend who is president of a major sound company in the area and hopefully - HOPEFULLY - there will be some improvement in the near future. If it can't be improved, I am all for turning it off. And, yes, any improvement would be paid for with school funds.

 

However, I will second the motion to have Hempel pay for it. Me paying for it is not as good of an idea.

 

BTW, there was not anywhere close to 5,000 people in attendance at the game. Ryle full capacity is 3500. And the concession revenues go to the band.

I also agree coop! Mr Collinsworth and Mr. Simpson are great backs with class! (Top of the class in NKY) They both play for class programs with great coaches. I do know Jeff at SK and also some assistant coaches at Highlands. Coach Dale always had great things to say about my oldest child and I hold him in high regards.

(start rumors) But when adults do that coop (make comments about the lie or rumor) I would consider those people to have no class!

I think all good parents and football fans would agree that BGP was designed to make positive comments about these young athletes in our area and not use this as a forum for their dislike of a certain player or school!

I didn't take any comments made being so about one particular player. He's right. Many can learn from those two mentioned. They play like Paul Brown always said to - like they've been there before.

What I saw at the Highlands/Ryle game last Friday night was kids playing with lots of intensity and passion!

To the Highlands fans and players thank you for a great game. Highlands has a special program and great fan support!

To the Highlands coaches that made the great comments about my young sophomore thank you very much! It means alot coming from class coaches as yourself!

Good luck on your season and see you in October.

One more thing the Roller kid is an great LB and my son enjoyed talking to him after the game. They both got to know each other on a personal level for 4 qtrs.

And you're certain my comment "A few players could learn from this" was directed specifically at him, are you? It was a comment made about players in general and that Collinsworth sets a great example by how he conducts himself on the field.

 

I've made numerous comments about Elliott being an outstanding player. Go back and read the threads if you like. And I had nothing whatsoever to do with any rumors about him during the summer, other than to tell a few people I couldn't imagine they were true - which they obviously weren't.

When your child possesses extra ordinary talent, he will unfortunately be the brunt of extra ordinary rumors. It's the nature of our society sadly enough today. It doesn't make it right, that's for sure. However, it should be used as A. a great motivator and B. a great maturing tool. Additionally, it will require extremly thick skin. Remember, the only thing that matters is the truth, and the only one's who know it are those involved so forget everyone else. That being said, I didn't see Coop directing anything to anyone. From what I saw, Ryle's personal fouls were committed by players not wearing #34.

I believe Coop to be mentioning it to kids in general.

One of the prettiest settings in NKY without question. However, its not just looking at your program. I do that any way. Its the darn dropping of the mic followed by non-stop crackling and distortion. Painful.

I guess my thinking is that the only folks who like the PA system are the parents and grandparents of the players scoring. With O linemen for sons, I was never really worried about that.

 

Now if the PA guys start pointing out what linemen made the key blocks that led to the score, I may just have to change my thinking. :dancingpa

Just pointing out that I was told that Ryle's full capacity is 3500, but you are right in that it could probably hold more than that given all the people (kids) that stand on the hill and track. I'm sure Ryle doesn't actually limit the number that come in though. No reason to turn away money.

Former Bengal stalwart Levi Jones solved that problem. Between the false start and holding penalties, the fans heard the call of #76 on the offense everybit as much as #9, #32 or ocho cinco.

In my case it's not so much liking the PA as hating the extra noise a really lousy one makes. Next to cheerleaders, I've always considered the PA as the most annoying thing at a given game.

Check that, grade school/middle school kids who always seem to sit near us with no interest in the game are the most annoying. The PA and cheerleaders are bad, but not that bad.
