Not saying Trousdale isn't in the top 100 in Tennessee is saying like Beechwood is not in the top 100 in Kentucky. Trousdale is the defending state champion and coming off an undefeated season.

 

However, one clue that the Trousdale team may not be as good as last year is what they did last week (vs) a, not so good, Macon County team (coming off a one win season). Trousdale gave up a whopping 34 pts to Macon, their defense barely gave up 34 pts during the entire 2008 season! With Mayfield's O clicking here early in the season, I think this will end up being a shootout... lots of points on the board. 41-34 Mayfield

 

I think Trousdale is every bit as good as last year. Macon has a new coach...is doing a very good job. Macon scored most of those points after TC built a big lead...and pulled their starters. Depth is a problem...because they put their starters back in after 3 quick scores. I don't think that will matter much...because they don't play a lot of players anway.

Trousdale County has a very good football program that gets a lot of support from the community, they play with a lot of pride and grit. Mayfield might win, and I hope they do, but it won't be easy...

Trousdale is nowhere near the 9th best team in the state.

Trousdale is without a doubt in the top 100 teams in Tennessee. For a few years in the early part of this decade they played 3A and held their own going to the semifinal of state once or twice. Hope Mayfied wins but they will have their hands full with Trousdale.

I don't think they are near as good as those teams were. They don't have a T.T. Harper...or Wesley Satterfield. I would think the game should be pretty even going in.

I am definately for Mayfield!!! With that being said they better bring it to the field because when Trousdale takes the field they bring the entire community and all their ancetors with them to fight every play of the game! They have a huge fan base for the smallest county in Tn., and you will see that if you attend. I loved it when Monroe played them, not always a great result, but a great game neverless! Good luck Mayfield...even though I still have hard fellings from my senior year of 89'.:irked:

Should be a very good berometer for Mayfield. Trousdale put up 49 in a week 1 victory. Mayfield thrashing Marshall County in week 0, has to give the Cards some confidence. Last season they started off slow after getting shelled by Ft Campbell to open the '08 campaign.
