This should be a good matchup for week 1. From what I had heard from the preseason Sheldon Clark has the potential to make some noise in the east this year. I think that Breathitt keeps rolling in this one by the tune of 42-14.

To much Channing and Haddix in this one. I also look for Breathitt to continue developing their passing attack. What's your thoughts on this one?

I figured the defense would be a little behind the offense this year considering they have a new coach and scheme. They have a pretty good core of players that has some youth getting their first highschool action. I beleive they will be better defensivley by the end of the year than they where last year.

I agree there defense has a lot of potential because they all fly to the ball very well and communicate.

Breathitt by 30, Holcomb has them very focused as to their goal this year, a State Title.

I don't know much about Sheldon Clark. They're supposed to contend with Belfry for the district title according to pre-season expectations.

 

Again, it's tough for me to pick because Sheldon Clark hasn't played yet, so nobody knows for sure how good they'll be.

 

I do expect the Bobcats to win. We should have a good idea of how these teams stack up with each other in 2-3 more weeks.

I would not go on last season Sheldon Clark could be a lot better.

How big is SC? A big, powerful running team usually provides the toughest matchups for Breathitt County. They can grind the ball down the field, chew up clock, and wear the Bobcats down because they have their share of two way players. Johnson Central did that to Breathitt County last year.

 

Breathitt's defense is good, but they aren't dominating. A good offense can move the ball against them. I'm hoping the Bobcats will improve in that area as the season progresses...they have a lot of young guys on that side of the ball. They start three freshmen on defense I believe.

Sheldon Clark is not big, they are HUGE. You will really be impressed by the size and strength of SC' linemen. The Cardinals also have some athletes that will surprise some of Breathitt's fans. I am not going to predict a score or even a winner, but I am willing to bet that when both teams leave the field they will know they were in a dog fight. Good luck to both teams.
