August 24, 200917 yr No you cannot. In an attempt to be transparent the adminstration asked Congress - the most democratic of the three branches - to come up with a plan inside certain parameters. There is not one plan but several at this point which leads to vagaries (sp) when talking about it. Had he wanted to be opaque, he would have brought a bunch of people together, developed a plan and given it to a demcratic to ram through, at whatever the cost. In an attempt at bi-partisanship the country has become even more partisan b/c the right is now all about winning and not about doing what is best for COUNTRY. This post would be funny if it weren't so sad.
August 24, 200917 yr How would you profile the home-schoolers from a voting perspective? Can probably spell every candidate's name correctly; if given the country of origin, alternate pronunciations, and use of the name in a sentence.:thumb:
August 24, 200917 yr The most striking part of this was the comment about education. He apparently has no idea that there are certainly choices he can make there. I think I understand his intent, but he completely worded it incorrectly.

I think I understand his intent, but he completely worded it incorrectly. Please excuse/correct my ignorance on the comment he made about education, but could he believe that the federal Government (even though they do) should not be so involved in our public schools? Could he believe that public schools curriculum should be controlled by local school boards instead of the federal government? Maybe he believes the federal government can fund but not mandate. Without moving, some people may only have the choice of public or home schooling, right? In some instances the public school in your area may still be better than the private option, but still not what you really want.
