Clark finally makes a contribution to the match. Nice finish! If the US wants three points though, they better not go into bunker mode at the back. It is going to take a second to win this one IMO. T&T have nothing to lose and will throw players forward.

Goal Goal Goal Goal USA Clark

1 USA 0 T&T

With Mexico topping Honduras and El Salvador beating Costa Rica, it becomes very black and white for the US. Win at Honduras on October 10th, and they're in. If Costa Rica loses to Trinidad and Tobago at home on October 10th, they're in. If the US ties Honduras and has Costa Rica tie, they're in. If the US loses or ties and Costa Rica wins on the 10th, it'll come down to the matchup in RFK on the 14th between the US and Costa Rica. The US would only need to tie that match to make it.

In all likelihood, Mexico is going to make it now. They're guaranteed a spot with a win vs El Salvador on the 10th, and that being in Azteca, it's a virtual certainty.

My guess is, it's going to come down the game against Costa Rica on the 14th. Honduras has won all 4 home matches so far, winning by 1, 2, 3, and 4 goals. Costa Rica is playing Trinidad & Tobago in Costa Rica, where only Mexico has won. I think Mexico will finish 1st in the group, the US second, and Honduras third.

Mexico were extremely lucky to win tonight as well. Penalty kick in the 74th minute. A very physical game, yet not a single card for Mexico and 4 for Honduras. The concrete of the Azteca weighed heavily on the shoulders of the official.
