sumoroyal Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Mark Martin finishes 31 yesterday and having one of the two best cars at Michigan yesterday. He was up to eighth and was solid in the chase until he came up a half gallon short and ran out of gas on the last lap. With this much at stake, I do not understand why they did not pit for fuel when the caution came out with about 30 laps left. They absolutely could not take the gamble of running out of gas!!!!! They did not need the win but a top ten finish and with one of the best cars he would have come back up throught the field. Martin's crew chief might be in Hendrick's office this morning with some explaining to do. This may be Martin's best chance to ever a championship and a stupid decision may cost him the chase. This acout made me :puke: yesterday at the end of the race!!!:madman::madman:
halfback20 Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Calm down, Martin is still in 12th according to Nascar.com's standings.
sumoroyal Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 Yes, he is 12th but only like 12 points ahead of Vickers who is running very good right now.
sumoroyal Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 Looks like nobody but me cares if Mark Martin makes the chase!!!:ohbrother::ohbrother:
o-line Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Mark will get his 1,000th start at Bristol this weekend to become only the 3rd driver in history to accomplish this feat with the three national Nascar series.
Da champ Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Looks like nobody but me cares if Mark Martin makes the chase!!!:ohbrother::ohbrother: These next 3 tracks are good for Mark, don't panic he'll come strong! I'll be there with my number 5 Kelloggs t-shirt on. Pulling hard for that car. One problem though it says Terry Labonte :ylsuper:

woodsrider Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Mark will get his 1,000th start at Bristol this weekend to become only the 3rd driver in history to accomplish this feat with the three national Nascar series. Do you mean of his career or at Bristol?
Royal Uncle Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Do you mean of his career or at Bristol? His career. :ohbrother:
woodsrider Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 His career. :ohbrother: I read that 4 times before responding. I knew that is probably what he meant but the way it came off to me is he was talking about Bristol. I know Martin is getting old but not that old.
halfback20 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I'd like to see Martin win the points this year...but I don't think it will happen.
