Who does everybody think is the favorite in 6A? I am going to go with Ryle. I believe they have the best overall talent at the skilled positions..JMO :idunno:

While Ryle "O" is very good, will the Ryle "D" be able to stop Simon Kenton RB or Conner QB, can they outscore them?

Whatever teams "D" steps up, they will win the NKy 6A title. Championships are won on the "D" side of the ball!

Going to be extremely interesting to watch this district this year. Going into the start of the season, I wonder if this district has ever seemed so absolutely balanced. You could make a solid case for 4 teams (Boone, SK, Conner, Ryle) to win it, and I'm sure Campbell feels they will have a say also. An injury to a key player(s) could really impact the outcome.

I would make a prediction, but I'd have better luck with a KY Lottery scratchoff. I'm very excited about this season, this district most likely won't have a rep in BG come December but five of the six teams in the district will be in contention for the district title. Boone with Quainoo and Oppenheimer, Ryle with Elliott, Eubank, Hempel and Nichols, Conner with West and Pugh, SK leaning on Miles and what I believe will be a much improved passing game with Lawrence, and Campbell wanting to prove that last seasons' demise down the stretch and having something to prove. It should lead to a very interesting season, just like last season, I wouldn't be suprised on any given

But nobody has mentioned anyone's "D" and that is why I think the Champion from NKy 6A will be the team whose "D" steps up! Everybody has a "O" but whose "D" is going to step up to win? Now there is your question!

SK has 7 returning on defense, they should be pretty solid. Look out for #36 Austin Baldwin, he's a Jr and is very good. Nik Brown was also a key on defense, both had over 100 tackles in '08. They also have a pretty good safety in Mile Simpson, I heard he's also good on the defensive side.

What is Miles not good at on the football field? I'm sure himself or his dad could find something but none of us.

You bring up an interesting subject - which 6A team does have the best talent at the skill positions? I don't know the skill position starters on each team so fill in the blanks and your own rankings. Here are my thoughts and rankings of the QB and RB from the 4 definite contenders (Boone, Ryle, Conner and Simon Kenton):

QB

West

Alford

Hempel

Lawrence

RB

Simpson

Quainoo

Elliott

Pugh

FB/RB2

Oppenheimer

Eubank

#41 on Conner (name please?)

As for receivers and TE's, obviously Nichols is #1. Who are the top receivers/TE's at each of these four schools?

Looking at the skill list above as I have them ranked, no team dominates so it still looks like 6A is a real battle with no clear favorite.

Corner will continue to be a weak spot again this year. IMO

Just like every year the way to beat SK is through the air. Which is why out of the other teams in the district I see Conner giving them the most trouble.

This is going to be a fun season to watch as any team could come away with the championship.

I can't argue anything you just said. However, having Miles deep might keep a few teams from trying it deep.
