August 14, 200917 yr Wow, the Reds continue to be the Reds... Why? This was a great trade. I read a little bit about Negron. He's a 23 year old player who was drafted in the 7th round in '06. Great speed & can play any position but catcher. "They" say he's a protypical leadoff hitter if he can make more contact. I like the move. We got a young talented infielder who may or may not pan out. But Gonzalex was hot & they found a team for him. It's good to see him go. :thumb: The Reds also sent over $1.1 million, presumably to pay off the rest of Gonzalex's salary. And, somehow, Red Sox fans are excited about this.
