Palin and her "Death Panel"

Featured Replies

She put them in the spotlight, she should have known that people were going to talk about them. Americans aren't always nice people and she should have expected that.

And no, if I was in her position, I wouldn't have gotten mad. It was a joke. But that is for another thread.

Please show me where the Obama children have been treated equally?

Wow, you seriously would not have been mad at someone calling or implying that your daughter was a young lady with no sexual morals?

Let me ask you it this way, would you have a problem with people on NATIONAL TV making fun of the bad choices your 17-year old daughter made? Would that rankle you and you or would you simply laugh about it and say no big deal, she is an adult now.
I would ignore it, because I realize what comedy is, and that I put myself, family included, in the national spotlight. Also, if I ran on a platform based on strong moral/familial values I'd probably see where the hypocrisy comes from...

Well, I can tell you that teenage girls don't like being called these types of things and I am sure it has been hard on the oldest daughter for all these grownups to supposedly humorously refer to her as some names that the Word Violation on BGP won't let me type.

When did the Obama children turn 18?

I'm sorry, but I don't think I can provide an answer to this, as I'm not for sure you understand comedy. To me when a public figure stands on a soap box and parades moral/familial values and then her daughter turns up pregnant out of wed lock...I see lots of comedic material there.

Unsurprisingly, Palin and Investors Business Daily have a lot in common:

IBD

Steven Hawking, of course, is British.

Thank goodness for all of those for profit US pharmaceutical companies which have produced nearly every single drug that Hawking takes for ALS. Otherwise we may never have gained as a human race, all of his brilliance in QM, cosmology, etc.

People referred to Paris Hilton as those same names when she was very close to that age (if not younger)...I didn't see the religious fanatics up in arms over that one. If this was Obama's theoritical 18 year old daughter I doubt we'd see the RR on the front lines!

As with most issues on this forum...this is simple politics and nothing else.

The post I quoted and bolded and was NOT yours, said that when families (I would assume that would include children) are put in the spotlight that they are going to be talked about.

Where is 18 relevant in THAT POSTER'S point?

You would see me posting on here the same way.

So I can only provide commentary on posts of yours directly aimed at me? Sorry, I didn't realize the rules...

Goodness, let me get my crayon and draw it out for you to understand.:lol:

You have taken your argument and put it in his points.

Your argument said only 18 and above.:thumb:

His argument did not.

I addressed your argument with the points that you had made.

I addressed his argument with the points that he had made.

He might very well come back and make the same points that you have made but to this point he has not.

You added to his points but he has not.

With my post, I have given him a chance to defend, expand or change his view.

Glad I could provide you with some humor but it is accurate.

I have long been a defender of Hillary and Chelsea for the dispecable way they were treated by Bill Clinton. I have stated on here that I have respect for Hilary for trying to hold her family together while having a scum for a husband. I have no respect for Bill Clinton because the multiple times he has treated his family as he did.

I would NEVER vote for Hillary Clinton and think she would be a horrible choice for President with her stance on abortion.

While it might be a problem for you, I have no problem defending someone when they need to be defended despite never thinking about voting for them.

Well, let's see, she mentions that her Down Syndrome baby's life is not considered worth it by Obama's health care plan and Brad Garrett on Joan Rivers roast jokes about how many times Bristol Palin's dress came up on Prom Night.

Anyone see a difference in the context of mentioning her family???

Would you be upset if someone joked that way about your teenage daughter??

Palin's comments on the "death panels" were, and I'm being very literal, completely made up. She created a fantasy. At least comedians are supposed to be funny.

I'm just providing commentary that apparently I didn't spell out clearly enough.

In my opinion the Obama children and Bristol Palin don't deserve to be treated the same...for MANY different reasons.
