I have a hard time believing Mustafa is contributing at the U17 level. I saw him play in a U14 game and he was far from being the top 3 on the floor. He's maybe 5'9" and doesn't shoot particularly well from the outside. Maybe he improved tremendously from the 3 weeks earlier when I saw him????:confused:

He contributes nicely as a bench player on that team. But remember, the NKY Heat is a local select team that only plays in and around the Cincy area. They do not travel and most of their kids come from the same school. Could he compete on the AAU 17U state level? Not even close. But, locally he is getting some time playing against tougher competition and with some pretty good players, which in the long run will make him much better.

 

I saw him play against a Cincy Bulls (15U) team a few weekends ago and was surprised to see him back in KY. He held his own in that game is all I was saying. When I saw him he was playing with a 15U team. What 14U team did you see him playing with? Maybe he was having a bad game??? Plus, he was at least 5'10 - 5'11.

While I do respect your opinions I have seen on this board, this is one I think you are totally off base on. I am not too sure Quentin Snider isn't the best player in the 13U age group. Admittedly, I have only seen the Hall kid from Bowling Green 3-4 times and he is awfully good, but Snider does so many things that makes your team better it is unreal. He knows how to control a basketball game from the point guard position. And he shoots it well. Plus, he is the only one that I know of in 13U that played up the entire AAU season (played with The Ville) because his parents made a decision after playing down in 6th grade he needed to be challenged even more. If I was starting a 13U (next year's 14U) AAU team today and had a pick of any kid, I am starting with Snider (well, Portwood is my favorite 7th grader, so maybe my heart goes there, but my head wants a point guard).

I think Snider is an excellent ball player and could fit in the top five spot, I had almost forgotten about him. I have only seen him play once this year though. I putting alot of his talent what I have seen from him in previous years.

 

I think the top fifteen SHS posted is a good list. The only one I haven't seen play off that list is Christian Cunningham?...

 

As far as Nick True, he is solid and strong. So I think he will most definately be a kid we will hear alot more about with the years to come. I just don't think he has put in enough performance thus far to be rated,imo. I don't remember seeing him on the AAU circuit last year. I will look to see much more of him this coming year. I heard that he is a fantastic football player, but I have yet to see him play football yet.

He was playing with kids that are going to freshman at BCHS. He is definitely not 5'10". I spoke with him and he is maybe 5'9".

I have not seen him play this year, I had only heard he has moved back to Ky. Two years ago he was a strong inside presence but lacked in the shooting department. It doesn't sound as if he has grown much.

Who are the top 10 7th grade kids this season??? I am just throwing this out there but with what I have seen this past year the top 2 was:

1. Brendan Stanley/NKY. Wolfpack

2. Keiffer Dalton/The Ville

I talked with him personally a few years back when he was a sixth grader at RA Jones. He was preparing to move to Scott Co. said, the coach wanted him to come and play there. He was very mature for a sixth grader.
