July 15, 200917 yr When times are tough you do what you have to do to get by. They don’t have lawnmower racing do they?
July 15, 200917 yr Author When times are tough you do what you have to do to get by. They don’t have lawnmower racing do they? I would say that the majority of the contestants were looking for some extra drug money.
July 15, 200917 yr I would say that the majority of the contestants were looking for some extra drug money. Now who’s stereotyping?
July 15, 200917 yr This is why us North-Eastern Kentucky people don't see Ohio in the same light as the Northern Kentucky people do.
July 15, 200917 yr And people wonder why people from our area are generally stereotyped. :ohbrother::lol: http://irontontribune.com/news/2009/jul/15/new-tradition-begins/ OMG!!!! That is terrible. But to the Tribune's credit, without the fair news, the entire 4 pages of the Trib would be comics and car ads:-)
July 15, 200917 yr Tina Falcone, once pretty in pink, now dawns earth tones as she rummages through wet mud along with 19 others in the search of random bills that add up to $200 in the inaugural Mud Scramble at the Lawrence County Fair Tuesday evening I know I'm picky...but I HATE improper usage of homophones! The word should be "dons", not "dawns".
July 15, 200917 yr I know I'm picky...but I HATE improper usage of homophones! The word should be "dons", not "dawns". Does incorrect grammar also apply as a stereotype? :idunno: I admit I had to look homophone up.
July 15, 200917 yr Does incorrect grammar also apply as a stereotype? :idunno: I admit I had to look homophone up. I'd have to ask the same question as LRCW asked earleir: "Is it a stereotype if it's true?" I'm a grammar-Nazi. Just ask my family...extended, kids, friends...I correct people's grammar like I get PAID to do it. The only one who appreciates my penchant for correcting grammar is my future daugter-in-law. She's an English teacher.
July 15, 200917 yr And people wonder why people from our area are generally stereotyped. :ohbrother::lol: http://irontontribune.com/news/2009/jul/15/new-tradition-begins/ As Ray Barone would say......."Holy Crap"!!! :ohbrother: LRCW, you are right.
July 15, 200917 yr OMG!!!! That is terrible. But to the Tribune's credit, without the fair news, the entire 4 pages of the Trib would be comics and car ads:-):laugh: Right, the Tribune is "fair and balanced"
July 16, 200917 yr I know I'm picky...but I HATE improper usage of homophones! The word should be "dons", not "dawns". Mom, how do you know that Tina doesn't go to bed without earth tones, yet wakes up in earth tones? Wouldn't she then "dawn" earth tones? My guess is that Tina indeed dawns earth tones. I'd also venture a guess that she's been mud before.
July 16, 200917 yr And... what's most important is that it was the "inaugural" mud scramble which leads one to believe that next year it should be new and improved once all the kinks are worked out in this the "inaugural" one.:thumb:
