Pendleton County Team Camp

Featured Replies

Was this Bracken County's JV team because no way they beat Pendleton County if they had Monroe and Cooper?

Bracken lost no one to graduation and they beat PC last year, being up 30 pts. at one time. So your logic makes no since.

Monroe is maybe 2 years away from being a star.

A few things from the camp.

Harrison County Freshman are a very talented bunch and good kids.

Pendleton County has an equal talented bunch of freshmen also. Throw in Monroe with this group and there is going to be classic battles between these two teams in the 38th district for the next four years.

Bracken County I feel has a very good varsity team. I look for big things from them this year. I hope they don't draw Mason County in the 1st round of districts. If they get to regionals they could surprise a few teams.

Pendleton played three games in row the last being Bracken County and looked a little tired. But still Bracken played well and out sized Pendleton.

Monroe scored close to 30 points against Newport in a classic matchup.

Arkansas Brewer (I think that was his name they called him Boo) was equally impressive for Newport.

Timmy Cooper and Dylan Hamilton may be the best pure shooters in the 10th region. Cooper already has interest from Transylvania in both basketball and golf.

Isn't he only 5'5?

Agree, but BC always does bad in summer games, when it is nothing but run and gun.

Isn't he only 5'5?

I think he is quite a bit taller than that with much room to grow. You must have not seen him since 3 years ago.

Plus it is HEART not HEIGHT that determines if a kid is a player or not!

And he can definitely play and does alot of things that doesn't show up in the scorebook but shows up on the scoreboard.:lol:

How tall do you have to be to be a star in the future?

Monroe is going to have a wonderful future, but I wander about how much he will grow?

Isn't he already as tall as his dad? Isn't Monroe also an exceptional golfer?

He is a good golfer.

Timmy Cooper, Phoenix Ramsey and Lane Weaver are the exceptional golfers on the PCHS team. Phoenix and Lane were tied for 3rd in region last year and Timmy almost made the cut at state. I think missed it by one stroke.

Mason is on the team but was not one of the five that played at regional/state winning the regional title.

Is there a country club or nice golf courses in the area? Just don't think of Falmouth and golf going together, but glad they are

His last name is Luther, not sure of his first but I'm pretty sure it's not Arkansas.

That's it Anthony Luther! he was very impressive.

My bad on Brewer  What ever happened to this kid?

I think he has some growing left in him only time will tell for sure. He is only 14

and has a year of playing varsity under his belt. He played well against some bigger guards last year and this year and has held his own. He has a big test tomorrow in Fucci with Tates Creek.

Here is what they say about Future.

"You may have a bright FUTURE:but we don't live in the future. You are judged on what you do NOW".

My opinion is he is doing very well Now against older 17-18 year old kids!

Also not worried about size but does a few of these small PC guards bring back any memories or thoughts. Gary Barnard, Bobby Lee Wyatt, Jerry Wright, Jimmy Gregg, Marlon Gregg, Talbert Turner, Mark Mains and Timmy Cooper??

One last quote I like: "Just because you ball doesn't mean you're entitled to it all".You have to earn everything; nothing will be given to you!

From what I understand he left school and was getting his GED.He would have been a senior this school year. This kid had talent but could not figure things out. Its ashame I wish the best for him.

Pendleton Country Club is located between Butler and Falmouth. 18 holes and is a nice course.

Also, Kincaid Lake State Park has a 9-hole course.

Pendleton has won 3-4 regional tournaments in golf and has produced several very good golfers. Steve and Lisa Houchens have won numerous times throughout NKY and the state. Brad Cox, Andrew Spencer, Mark Browning were all very good golfers in high school.

Besides the 3 boys that I mentioned on the girls side, they made their first appearance in the KHSAA two years ago and Ashley Pugh is presently playing at St. Catherine's for golf and basketball. SHe had a hole-in-one in her last collegiate golf match this past season. Kristen SMith and Haley Hart are sophomores-to-be and both qualified for the state tournament last year.

Pendleton has a very nice golfing history.
