June 12, 200917 yr He hit Gasol relatively high. A dirty player would have cut his legs out from under him. He was running full speed with his hands ready to drill Gasol. If he was close enough to take out his legs, he may have just done that.

Just losing a hard fought game on your home court in the finals, then an opposing player trying to show up your team, yeah.

It' wasn't that dirty because he hit him in a spot to where he most likely wouldn't get hurt. The Magic were frustrated, Pietrus made a hard foul, should be a flagrant, but he didn't try to kill him or anything.

While I do not think the cheap shot was warranted in how it was carried out, I can appreciate the fact someone on Orlando tried to step up and figuratively say, "hey, this ain't over yet." If L.A. would have been in the same situation, I cannot say I would not want someone from the Lakers to attempt to get in a hard foul to send that statement.
