But, yeah right or wrong he is lucky that Pietrus isn't dirty or he could have really gotten fouled hard. I don't like dirty basketball, but in some circles that could get you hurt. Warranted? I don't know. You make a good point about the Magic pressuring the ball, but at the same time with that kind of pressure would you want to dribble it out to force a foul and more importantly waste time? Gasol was trying to put a finishing stamp on the game, in a showboat way, and Pietrus fouled in frustration. Yeah, I wonder what would have happened if Ron Artest was the one fouling Gasol. :sssh:

There was 3 seconds left. The game was over. Why even close out? Is that not considered pressuring the ball? It is where I come from.

LA just advanced it up the court to the open man and it ended up with Gasol right at the rim. You can't be serious saying that the cheap shot may have been warranted.I think he just means he is lucky it wasn't some idiot like Ron Artest that would have round house kicked Gasol. We all get caught up in the heat of the moment; Pietrus did as well but was able to show some semblance of restraint by not going for the ultimate knock out blow.

I had Ron Artest in mind when I said it but Stephen Jackson, Rasheed Wallace, and other psycho would have served purpose.

If you would have read the post, you would see where I put "(probably so they don't try to score)"...In my opinion, what Gasol did was like a team up by 10 points in football with 5 seconds left and throwing a hail mary.

If Howard did that I wouldn't be mad at him, I'd be mad that my team was down 3-1... not that they "ran the score up."
