The Sky Hook It makes absolutely no sense to me that no big men have added this unstoppable weapon to their arsenal. There should be a special big man camp teaching this to the youngsters as early as possible. Part of my beef with the NBA is that it's all flash and very little substance. The beauty of the Sky Hook is that it was both. Listen for the great quote from Mike Dunleavy in the first part of the video feature.
June 10, 200917 yr It's a really tough shot, to be honest. You have to be incredibly coordinated to do it consistently. Some days I can hit it, other days I'm way, way off. Dwight has a decent one, but aside from him you never see it.
June 10, 200917 yr I agree. Completely. It's unguardable and yet nobody but Kareem has every really used it. A lot of guys use the half hook, but not the Sky hook.

It's practically unstoppable, and almost impossible to block, but I guess it's not sexy enough to use. I used to get extremely upset when I played my father in horse, the hook was always his trump card.

Imagine how frustrating it would be to see Kareem destroy your team with an unguardable shot that only he could use. It's like that one spot on the left side of the court in double dribble where you couldn't miss.

June 10, 200917 yr I like the dream shake myself. Olajuwan used it really effectively and Kevin Garnett uses it as well. I think I even saw Kobe use it the other night in Game 1 of the finals.
