Will and Antonio Barton To Memphis

Was he the only target of 2010 or something?

He's a legit top 5 player, and almost everything was pointing to him landing at UK. So, any way you slice it, it's not an easy loss...

What exactly was the reason for him landing at Memphis? What turned him away from UK?

What exactly was the reason for him landing at Memphis? What turned him away from UK?

1.) His brother wasn't be offered by Kentucky (not as big of a player in the situation IMO)

2.) He visited Memphis late last week (was supposed to follow up with a UK visit) and it couldn't have went any better for Memphis. Pastner sold the Barton's on the idea of the mess at Memphis being all on Calipari, and that the NCAA will be coming after Calipari hard instead of the UM program.

3.) Glynn Cyprien left Kentucky, and ended up at Memphis. A lot of sources close to the Barton's say Will was wanting to commit to Kentucky last season, but his high school coach said it was too early. He and Coach Cyprien formed an extremely tight bond, and him being at Memphis instead of UK had A LOT to do with making the decision to play ball for the Tigers and not the Wildcats

That's a loaded question, but the two main keys were Coach Cyp at Memphis and Barton's mom wanting her sons to play together...

I didn't say he was great. I didn't stick up for anything he said.

He was wrong, he admitted to being wrong. What else could he do at that point that would have satisfied you? Just curious.

I bring up Matt Jones because he is another extremely cocky Kentucky basketball person.

I'm done thread jacking. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to continue this conversation.

You did stick up for him.

I am satisfied. I answered your original question and you started on this road. People called him out b/c he says they are dumb when they have info that is different than his even if they have legit info. He has to admit he is wrong when he misses this bad.

So what? There was no reason for him to enter the conversation.

I'm done now, and would have been earlier if you didn't call me out. You can continue in PM's if you want.
