June 5, 200917 yr There is speculation that the Boston Celtics are looking to trade veteran star Ray Allen and that they might also part with point guard Rajon Rondo to make the right deal happen. There appears to be a small riff involving Rondo in the Celtics' organization. GM Danny Ainge made the following statements: "He's stubborn," Ainge told ESPN's Jackie MacMullen. "He doesn't always take direction well. He's very bright and knows what he needs to do to be successful. But sometimes he doesn't understand what the team needs to be successful." Earlier in the season, head coach Doc Rivers said this to Rondo: "Do you know your teammates hate playing with you? ... The point guard has to be the guy that brings energy to the team. You can't be the guy that sucks it away. Your moodiness is affecting us. Change it." Despite having the support of several veterans, including Paul Pierce, it seems possible that Rondo could be traded if the Celtics can find a trade they like. Source: Hoopsworld.com
June 5, 200917 yr This would be a silly move by the Celtics, if they were to do this. Rondo, is one of the best young PG's in the NBA! What he did in the playoffs this year was amazing in Garnett's absence! I doubt his teammates hate playing with him!

Source: Hoopsworld.com Look for the the Mavs to possibly pull a sign and trade for him. Rondo seems like Cuban's kind of player because he is young and athletic, and Kidd will want to go to a contender via free agency. Maybe a deal to the Hawks could work as they are suspected to try to dump either Joe Johnson or Josh Smith depending on which style of basketball they are going to play. Kind of a year early to start to break the team apart IMO. They could still have another title run in them next year as Garnett should be healthy. I lost alot of respect for Ainge when he was quoted as saying that. You don't throw your own players under the bus, especially when you are trying to trade them. Really lowers what you can ask for.

Why is it so hard to imagine him not being popular among his teammates?
June 5, 200917 yr I can't say that I watched a lot of Celtics games this year (probably 8-10) but I didn't think that their offense had much of a flow to it. A lot of one-on-one. Whether or not that comes down on Rondo, I'm not sure- I'm inclined to say no.
June 5, 200917 yr Hmmm...I seen something last night that said the Celtics are interested in Amare. Shouldn't do that trade. Amare has made it clear that he is going to either NY or Washington in 2010 if they want him. He wants to be the man.

June 5, 200917 yr Maybe they like what they've seen from Starbury and are willing to take a shot with him at the point if they can get the right price for Rondo and/or Allen. Just a thought... I think Rondo benefitted a great deal from the presence of KG and the other two veterans...I'd be curious to see how he'd perform in a different situation. He still needs to work on his shooting. If he does, he could consistently play at an elite level for a PG no matter his supporting cast...if he doesn't, I think he still needs to be surrounded by the right players for his talents to really shine.

Dallas shouldn't have traded Harris. I thought that was a dumb move when they made it.

June 5, 200917 yr What Rondo did in the playoffs was very impressive, the kid can play. With or without all-stars around him!
