June 6, 200917 yr ^ I'll agree with you. You guys are forgetting Rua later had surgery and was overcoming an injury while he first got to the UFC. Now, he is healthy, and I'm sure confident after leveling Chuck. Shogun is better than most of you think, and was only down in part mostly to not being healthy. He is now, and I think would be a good fight for Machida. Although, id like to see Rampage, Rua is the guy I'd like to see Machida fight second.

I'm not sure why it's hard to believe that someone would be interested to see Shogun vs. Machida? Two very good fighters with contrasting styles going at it...it will be fun. I think Shogun will attack and make it interesting.

We all have our opinions on issues and that is what makes the world tick. Could be a good fight, sure, and it might not be.
June 6, 200917 yr I would think that we could have our own opinions on whether the fight will be a good one or not, could be a classic or could be a dud. There have been many UFC fights that should have been great, but just were not. Fights that the "so-called" UFC experts thought would be UFC classics that were nothing in the end or did not come close to living up to the hype! So, in all honesty, this could go either way and I think/hope everyone understands that!
June 6, 200917 yr Im not sure how I feel on the Machida/Shogun fight yet. At first thought Im not really pumped but Ill be watching for sure. Was hoping to see what Rampage could do against Machida first.
June 6, 200917 yr I don't know what to expect from Shogun. He has yet to look overly impressive in the Octagon. He didn't look that great against Chuck prior to the KO...and as we've seen over the past year or so, anyone who lands a clean shot can put Chuck down. I'm inclined to think Machida will control this fight. But, if the PRIDE Shogun shows up, this is a very interesting matchup of opposite styles. I'm not willing to bet $45 that we'll see the old Shogun in this fight.

Could be a good fight, sure, and it might not be. I never said it was. I was simply asking why it was so hard to believe that I was excited for a fight. I could not care less if anyone else is excited for it .
