May 19, 200917 yr I don't mind it but you'll never see me do it. It's part of the NBA. It's been a part of the NBA for a while, it's just bigger now because Lebron & Dwight Howard are superstars. When you play like they do, you can do whatever you want. At least the moves are choreographed, you've got to give them that.

I'd imagine practicing it is a blast. Personally, I love the camaraderie. Like I said, you won't see me doing it anytime soon. But if that's what you do to get ready & it works, then that's what you do. I don't mind the enthusiasm.

B-ball was always the entertainment for me but it seems like many now want to be entertained while they're being entertained. I don't think that is what CatsCatsCats is getting at, I think he means that while the NBA is always going to be great to watch for "true" NBA fans; that the story lines that are present today, such as LeBron vs. Kobe, will Dwight Howard be the next Shaq?, Are Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Chauncey Billups, Rajon Rondo, Derrick Rose, Rudy Fernandez, Jason Kidd, Devin Harris, Russell Westbrook, Allen Iverson, Mike Bibby, and Tony Parker the greatest crop of point guards playing during one time in NBA history? Will Kobe ever win a title without Shaq? Will LeBron leave in 2010? Will Dwyane Wade ever win an MVP award? While the NBA has always been one of my favorite sports to watch-and Triple Cats', trust me-I think that with today's crop of young talent, this is the best time to be an NBA fan since the days of Jordan/Bird/Magic.

May 19, 200917 yr I'm a youngster, but I've always liked the Chalk routine; I liked it when KG and Jordan did it as well. It's just really cool to me. I liked it when Jordan did it. But, I don't like it when LJ or KG do it. Why? I'm a fan of originality...I don't mind the pre-game rituals at all, but if you're going to do it, be original. Don't just do what MJ did. Considering how much people criticize Kobe for trying to emulate Jordan, I hate to think what they'd say had he incorporated the chalk routine into his arsenal. In the words of the great 311... You got to come original!
