May 16, 200917 yr What's the cut off line in Obama's administration between the get out of jail free card vs. having to suck it up? Just curious. When does this quit becoming only about Obama? The fact of the matter is that there is more than enough blame to go around, and now this administration, like Bush's, is trying to deal with the matter in some way that protects the country as a whole. I don't understand why Obama is being blamed for closing car dealerships, for instance. Blame the auto makers and their finance companies.
May 16, 200917 yr Its very simple: with this administration, we are being denied the RIGHT to fail. I am not saying Obama is evil, is intentionally trying to harm the country, I believe he really earnestly believes in his own heart that his approach to government protection and regulation is right. However, 1) this is NOT what we were told when he campaigned; and 2) he is totally ignorant of the fact that failure is the natural course of things. Businesses fail, bad things happen, people die. Fortunes are found and lost, and people reap what they sow. We are being denied that natural order of things by the regulation proposed by this government.

You forgot one group that I believe has quite a bit to do with the state of the auto industry and that's the UAW.
