Track the Red Sox (Week 5)

The Red Sox trailed 2-1 tonight in the 6th inning when they exploded against the Indians. They are now up 10-2 still with no one out. 11 consecutive batters have reached and the Indians are now on their 3rd pitcher of the inning after the first 2 couldn't record an out.

Jason Bay just hit a 3 run homer into the right field bullpen. 13-2 Boston TWELVE straight Red Sox hitters have reached base and scored against 3 Indians pitchers. This has to be approaching a record.

Bay is looking like he's gearing up for an MVP-like season....

.316 avg. 8 HRs 29 RBIs

On a side note, I look at the lineup tonight, and it's apparent to me that I need to get the MLB package to keep up with these guys better...

Lugo

Pedroia

Bay

Lowell

Baldelli

Drew

Bailey

Green

Kottaras

I live in a townhouse complex where I'm not allowed to mount a dish so I've bought the MLB Premium online. I've liked it really well so far. If you get the premium you get less blackouts and you can watch either set of announcers so you can watch NESN even if they're on the road.

The 12 runs in an inning before an out was recorded did tie a modern major league record. The last time it happened was May of 1953 when the Dodgers did it. Wakefield continues to be solid with 6 innings of 2 run ball to improve to 4-1 on the year. Nice win for the Sox who played without Papi, Youkilis and Ellsbury. Now if they can just solve those pesky Rays this weekend.

Not too shabby for a "horrible" trade ...

Do you get the games in HD on your computer too?

If you don't mind me asking, how much does that run?

If you get the premium they are in HD if there is an HD broadcast. The Premium Package also allows picture in a picture or a split screen to watch multiple games at once as well as DVR capability. Its $110 for the year or $20 a month. The basic is less but doesn't have as many features. Here's the page that tells you the prices and the difference. MLB TV

Sounds like a pretty good deal, but I'll stick to watching the Reds on FSN.

I have to give the BoSox credit, imo the best team in baseball right now. That coming from a Yankee fan is really a compliment....:lol:

I have to say that although I am a Yankee fan I do not hate the Sox. Don't get me wrong, I want to beat the crap out of them but I don't hate them. I actually respect the heck out of them.

GO Yankees!! (and remember BoSox fans , it ain't over till' it's over.:D)

Since joing the Red Sox here are Jason Bay's stats, playoffs included:

Games: 89

At Bats: 320

Runs: 71

Hits: 98

Doubles: 21

Triples: 3

Homeruns: 20

RBIs: 75

Walks: 59

Strikeouts: 88

Stolen Bases: 7

Average: .307

Slugging: .640

On Base %: .418

On Base + Slugging: 1.058

I think its worked out pretty well so far. So far Wireman has refused to comment on it this season in spite of calling it a horrible trade over and over--I wonder why he won't give in and say that they did the right thing? Or maybe he still thinks it was a horrible trade.

That's pretty much how I feel. I used to like them when I was younger with guys like Clemmens, Greenwell, Rice, Yaz etc. I respect their blue collar guys like Variteck etc. I really started disliking them when they started winning the big games. I've never seen more bandwagon fans then them, Pitt Steelers + Pats. I respect the Pats+Steelers too by the way. The two best run franchises in the NFL I'd say especially NE.

You have to also factor in the latest Manny development, and I see no way you can call this anything but a great trade for the Sox.

:thumb: Now they need to get to work on a contract extension.
