March 23, 201115 yr If they're prohibited from playing high school sports then they also shouldn't be able to participate in any extra activities, band, theatre, chess club, year book, whatever. It's stupid, it only hurts the kid.
March 25, 201115 yr Any one think the continued "quiet" on this issue is a result of publics winning 4 of the 6 football championships and both basketball championships? I know the privates have done extremely well in soccer, volleyball and golf, but for a large majority of the public school followers, success by the privates in those sports isn't that big of a deal (although that may change as more and more schools take soccer more seriously). The fact a public school also won the wrestling championship just further dampens the public private debate. To me at least, the issue is totally driven by who is winning the championships. If the privates start winning a lot of the championships of the major sports again, this issue will once again flare up. If they don't, it won't.
