May 3, 200917 yr Sham never raced again after that. I believe that Secretariat was 1-10 in the Belmont. Wow! I think Sham would have won the Triple Crown that year if it wasn't for Big Red! No doubt, he was clearly the best of the rest.
May 3, 200917 yr All of the above are the reasons I took umbrage with those that annointed Big Brown the next Secretariat. No way. No how. There have been some great horses since Big Red, but I can't say any were close to what we saw in 1973
