Dixie 7 Covington Catholic 5

... I don't think you really want to open that debate up. Two words... Isler, Nutini.

Glad to see Cov Cath would want to save their best for us.

Pitch them against Dixie. If CCH had trouble against our 5 pitcher we can just throw our ace . Then you"ll have 0 excuses.

I don't use pitching as an excuse. Dixie won this game and I'm happy for them. After our top 3 or 4 pitchers, we have some troubles and CCH needs to get that worked out. It isn't Dixies fault our pitchers walked and hit everyone at bat.

I do feel youre being a little cocky though. CovCath's bats will come around, that isn't a question. And I'm confident our one and two, probably even three pitcher will right the ship against ya'll next time. And of course CovCath will save Nute or Isler in the regions, they want to win as bad as anyone and ya'll are a good team.

In baseball you win some and you lose some, yesterday CovCath lost, and earlier in the season Dixe lost to CovCath. If both teams make it out of their District and met in the Region, we shall see who is the better team if they play each other.

:thumb: And if I'm not mistaken we play you all again May 13 at your place.

Good way to put it TOG:thumb:. I agree with you, unlike the rest of the CCH fans.

Lol... It's called the regional tournament. Are they just going to throw their 4 and 5 and hope for the best?

It's called having to play other teams.

Wow:ohbrother:

Anyways, here at Dixie we'll let CCH make there excuses. We won and we'll play again. Good luck to you guys and we'll see you again soon.

If someone says poor pitching is the reason we lost, that's stating WHY the team lost. It's not an excuse.

First of all, I would assume Smallwood is Dixies ace right?....Maybe the fact that Isler, Nutini, Maile, and Darner all played on the same summer team as him and are well aware of his pitching style and what he brings to the table might cause some problems for Dixie.

Exactly. Just because a reason is stated for the loss doesn't make it an excuse. Baseball is such a great game, IMO, because the best team on paper loses more than they would in other sports. You can hit the heck out of the ball, but if it is hit to someone and they don't make errors, you can lose. In high school you need 21 outs. Throw strikes, play good defense, and anything can happen, especially in a one and out tournament. If it is best two out of three, etc. then the favorites have a much better chance to win. I'm not associated with Cov Cath, but I wouldn't be talking too much junk until you can, or if, you knock them out in a Regional where you know you won't face them again. :idunno:
