April 16, 200917 yr I have been, and it is a great experience. I went in the late 90's and caught an Indians / Red Sox game. The Indians were a premier team in the AL, and the stadium was packed. The thing I remember most vividly was while we were on our way to the stadium, a man pulled alongside next of us & said "You're not from around here, are you?" Obviously, we were not. We told him so, and he said "Follow me, you don't want to be "lost" in this part of town." Apparently the area surrounding Fenway is notorious for its drugs & crime. Or at least it was at the time.
April 16, 200917 yr Author That makes me not want to go as much lol. My goal is to this summer start going to an MLB city for a game. I want to eventually see every MLB city. I'm thinking starting in Cleveland since it's close and working my way from there.

April 16, 200917 yr Being a HUGE Red Sox fan, this was the first ballpark on my list to visit. I've been twice now. The first time was in the 2003 season when they played the Toronto Blue Jays. The atmosphere is just awesome. There's nothing like it (including Wrigley, which I have been there as well). The Sox ended up winning in the bottom of the 9th thanks to Manny Ramirez... The next time I went was in the 2005 season when the Boston Red Sox played host to the Cincinnati Reds, the first time the two faced off since the 75 World Series. It was awesome, Tiant (sp?) threw out the first pitch to Fisk. I somehow was able to gather up seats that were 6th row behind the visitors batting box. Boy, were the Sox fans giving the Reds a hard time. I remember Griffey just laughing it off, but a few were getting pretty angry. Anyway, Manny hit a HR and the Red Sox won 10-3. I think one of the best parts about attending Fenway (aside from the game itself) is singing Sweet Caroline with everyone else in the ballpark. Great time
April 16, 200917 yr Fenway is one of the stadiums that I would definitely like to watch a game in... I have only been to the Reds and Dodgers stadiums.
April 16, 200917 yr Fenway is one of the stadiums that I would definitely like to watch a game in... I have only been to the Reds and Dodgers stadiums. I've been to: Fenway Park Wrigley Field Reds stadiums (Riverfront/Cinergy, GABP) Jacobs Field Camden Yards PNC Park I'd say Fenway was my favorite, Camden was pretty sweet too though
April 16, 200917 yr I've been. Did a tour of the stadium and seen a game. Went in 2004, so I'd like to think I played a part in breaking the curse. Nothing like it at all.
April 16, 200917 yr I did one of these tours about 7-8 years ago. I think this was the company I went with. It was a blast. It's not cheap, but it's not outrageous concidering what you get. There are other tours on their website, I just chose this one cause it's an easy drive or cheap flight. It's a great way to see a bunch of teams and a bunch of ballparks. A single person can get the double rate if they want to share a room with someone else. http://www.diamondbaseballtours.com/ Starts and finishes at: Baymont Inn and Suites of Chicago O'Hare 2881 Touhy Ave. Elk Grove Village, Il 60007 847-803-9400 Field of Dreams Tour Wednesday......July 1........New York Mets @ Milwaukee 1:05 CST Thursday.........July 2........San Francisco @ St. Louis 6:15 CST Friday.............July 3........Chicago White Sox @ Kansas City 7:10 CST Saturday.........July 4........Field of Dreams – Bring your glove. April 16, 200917 yr My list consist of: Riverfront (Reds) Atlanta Fulton County Stadium (Braves) Wrigley (Cubs) US Cellular Field (White Sox) Metro Dome (Twins) Bush Stadium (Cardinals) US Cellular Field was very very nice!
April 16, 200917 yr I have never been inside of US Cellular, but have driven past it a few times recently. It's a good-lookin' place, and it has really sparked my interest!
April 16, 200917 yr Stadiums I've been to: National League Pro Player Stadium - (now Dolphin Stadium) - Florida Marlins (once) Riverfront / Cinergy / Great American BallPark - Cincinnati Reds (lost count) Miller Park - Milwaukee - (Went to a Reds game 3 summers ago) Wrigley Field - Chicago (Went once as a kid, once last year to the Reds game) Chase Field - Arizona (4 or so summers ago; Astros v. D'backs game...it was the BOB at the time). Caught an Expos game up in Montreal once. Can't think of what their dome was called, though? Went to Candlestick Park (San Francisco) as a little kid, although I barely remember it. American League Camden Yards - Baltimore (Don't remember this at all, as I was a baby). Baltimore has built a new park since then, but I still count it in my list. Fenway Park - Boston Tropicana Field - Tampa Bay (back when it was astroturf) Comerica Park - Detroit - (my best experience at any ballpark & one of the coolest stadiums I've been to.) The Jake - Cleveland - It's now "Progressive Field". Safeco Field -- Seattle Mariners -- This field is almost identical to Arizona (without the pool & big wall in Center) & Milwaukee (without the slide in Leftcenter). Got to see Griffey's return to Seattle, when he was with the Reds. I've also been to Ed Smith Stadium (Reds' home in Sarasota) & the Twins Park in Ft. Myers. The Twins facilities are much nicer than the Reds... FWIW, Miller Park has the cheapest beer. It was just over $4 (under $5) when we went, and the Brewers' fans were upset because they had just jacked up the price. Detroit has the most expensive beer, at $8. $8 & change if you get it from a vendor.
April 16, 200917 yr I plan on going to Wrigley again this year in July for the Reds game. I also hope to catch a game in Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Atlanta and/or anywhere else...I'll probably put together a trip to one of the 3.
April 16, 200917 yr Fenway is cool. To get the full experience take the subway to the game filled with Sox fans. Adds to the experience. If you're like me it will seem smaller in person that it does on TV. Old school stadium though with very small and cramped seating. Its a must ,though, for a baseball fan. Make sure you spend at least two days in Boston.
