That is naive to think and this article came out this week that a person should be proud to have an abortion and we should honor those mothers who choose to stop the lives of their unborn children. Yes, they should - and many do. Women can feel initial sadness, but simultaneously know what she needs to do, that the abortion is the absolute best choice, and ultimately feel resolution, peace, and pride. In fact, many women do feel goodness, empowerment, increased self-esteem, and pride in the wisdom and the awareness that they took control of a frequently chaotic situation - unwanted pregnancy - and made a moral and ethical decision that was beneficial for their lives, their futures, and, ultimately, was also good for society. Women are already speaking out about their abortions, normalizing its occurrence in our lives, and sharing feelings about the importance of voluntary motherhood. We need to create a world where a woman having an abortion is as respected and supported as a woman having a baby.
April 16, 200917 yr Wow! :eek: How does one get pride from having an abortion when the need for an abortion was more than likely the result of an irresponsible, impulsive act? I just really don't see how pride could even remotely be connected to having an abortion--for any reason. Consider even the rare instances where women say they feel compelled to abort for health reasons or because of genetic abnormalities in the baby. I can't imagine any of those women being proud of such decisions. If anything, I think they would be tremendously sad, regretful, and always have the lingering "what if?" passing through their minds. Certainly, they would be feeling anything but pride.

The abortion issue has been beat to death on here.:deadhorse: It has been concluded several times that (1) both sides feel they are 100% right and (2) no one from the oposing view could have anything to say that would change how I feel. That is probably why there has been a lack of activity in this thread.

Everytime they vote for a spending bill that provides for public funding for abortion clinics, they are saying "I'm pro abortion!". Each vote to allow late term abortion screams pro abortion. A reluctance to stand up against abortion is a statement in favor for it.

I disagree. I think we elect Pro-Choice candidates. I realize that in your mind there is no difference. I think most people would disagree with you. I'm claiming that I've never heard a candidate say they are PRO ABORTION as LBBC has claimed.

My claim is there is a movement that wants this country to be, as she states, as proud as a woman who had an abortion as one that brought the baby to life. Instead, I think this country should see that as an abomination as much as someone who is racist, gender hating, etc, etc.

What is the old saying, all it takes for evil to arise is for good people to say nothing. Each time they vote for pro-choice measures they are voting for the death of more unborn babies. Heck, we have had people on here that aliken fetuses to parasites.
