I don't see how you justify Ohio State being a top 5 Club at this point. They are losing Laurinaitus, Jenkins, Wells, Robiskie, Hartline, Boone, Freeman, and Washington. I know they are returning Terrelle Pryor-who is by no stretch of the imagination a great passer-but after that who really are they returning? I am not asking this to incite a fight or anything, I've done quite a bit of research on Ohio State and they are dreadfully bare in the defensive secondary, their leading returning receiver has 22 catches and something like 220 yards, Herron has provided some quality time at Running Back, but he was the third string tail back for a reason.

 

I've done a lot of research as well on their incoming recruits and Berry and Carter will be effective in two years, but do not look for them to be instant impact type players. Marvin Fellows, a 5 star defensive end, and Dorian Bell, a 5 star weak side linebacker, will be the two players that make an impact next season. Ohio State has the #1 class on the country on Scout, but is it really a better class than LSU, Miami, or Texas? I think they got bumped up due to the 25 commits they got.

 

OSU's class is better than the U's this year. No way is it even close to LSU's, but who's is? Oho State has a nice class, up there with USC, Bama, Texas and others.

Interestly, enough Tressell is probably more successful with the lesser known recruits he brings in. Lauranitis (sp?) and Malcom Jenkins were very underrated coming to school, 3* or low 4* I believe. I think Carter will get some minutes this season, maybe start, but if OSU is wanting anything more than a big possession WR look elsewhere. I'm not changing on Berry. I hope I'm wrong, I'd like so see him do good, I just don't think he will.

As for OSU as a top 5 or top 10, at some point they will possibly be ranked there, but remember the saying, "for every freshman you start, you lose one game".

If Miami's class last year couldn't translate into more than 7 wins, don't look for OSU's this year to bring in the necessary wins they will need to be top 5, or to even stay in the top 10. Granted OSU has better coaching, but there's just a lil bit of a talent gap between 2009 OSU's class and Miami's 08 class.

It's going to be interesting to see if the true freshman QB at LSU starts. That kid is lightning quick! Okl St, Ole M are good sleeper teams. I really think if UK gets some offense they will be really good this year. Not saying top 5 but I do think they will be in the top 25 at least.

 

He will get some playing time, but it will most likely be in the Wildcat or out wide. He is quick, a faster, smaller Vince Young. Not quite the Pat White that he is compared to though as far as running the rock.

No Rambler, I wasn't talking about you, I saw it on one of the first two or three posts on here.

 

Also, The Buckeyes are one year away IMO, top 5 contender and national championship favorite. Ohio State will win 9-10 games this season due to the weak Big-10, but I don't see them being as good as some expect.

 

:thumb: I can agree that OSU is probably one year away, imo the Buckeyes will win 10-11 games this season and "may" be top 5 by season's end depending on some of the things that I mentioned in my earlier post. I do look for them to be a serious contender for the National Title in 2010.

There you go. Arkansas could really surprise some people, they have Smith back, 3 of their top 4 recievers, 9 defenders, and Mallett will be eligible. I don't know if they have enough to win the SEC West, but no one will want to play them.

 

But, people are really down on Oklahoma. Their line will be fine. They will be top 5 most of the season. I think OU could possibly average 50 PPG the entire season and their defense obviously improved during the season and bowl practices.

Rest of the list looks good, I don't know about U of L though? But, I will state once again, plenty of people will be angry with the picks me and spikes made. We have a surprise team on there or two.
