CatsCatsCats Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Who are some of everyones favorites for the next NBA draft. I would guess that Griffin will be the number 1 pick. My personal favorite is a foreign player, Ricky Rubio. He is only 18 and is a mixture of Steve Nash and one of my all-time favorite basketball players Pistol Pete Marovich. He is projected to be a top 5 pick and has played pro ball since he was 14. He will be a very good PG in the NBA, IMO.
KyTiger89 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Love Rubio. Griffin will be up there as well. Thabeet will go high. I love Jordan Hill though, he will be a stud!
ScarHeel Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Griffin (Oklahoma) Harden (Arizona St) Brandon Jennings DeJuan Blair (Pitt) Ty Lawson (UNC) Tyreke Evans (Memphis) I didn't think Rubio would be in this year's draft. I thought he was 2010.
born2reign Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I think Rubio may be available. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/chris_mannix/03/18/rubio/index.html?section=si_latest My Knicks need a TON of help, but I would love to get a shot at Blake Griffin. Some guys that have impressed me this season that haven't been mentioned are James Harden (Ariz. St.), Johnny Flynn (Syracuse), Cole Aldrich (Kansas) and with his tourney performance and, what I have found from some research on the kid, Ben Woodside (N. Dakota St.) intrigues me.

HammerTime Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Nope Rubio already said he is going to declare for the draft.
HammerTime Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 1. Blake Griffin 2. Ricky Rubio The rest are up for grabs still.
tenaciousD Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I like Rubio a lot... but if I was a franchise, Griffin would be my guy.
HammerTime Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Rubio is still a bit raw but man he can be really go sometimes. He abused the USA guards in the Olympics.
saint4 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Griffin has to be first. Rubio is good as well but players like Griffin don't come around very often. Thabeet would be a good pick for someone who is just a little bit away like a Miami or someone like that. Lawson is the best pure PG imo, and he is as quick as they come. Harden is the type of player I would love on my team. The Louisville brothers T Williams and Earl Clarke are both going to be contributers to their teams in year one, and T-Will will go in the top ten imo.

What do you see Terrence Williams playing in the NBA though? He is a tweener at his size and IMO will be more of a role player in the NBA but yet again thats just my opinion.
CatsCatsCats Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 I think it depends on what you need. If you need a foundation and a scorer take Griffin. If you need a flashy but good PG that will sell you alot of tickets take Rubio. All things even I would take Griffin if I were most of the teams in the lottery. Thabeet is a nice pickup for some teams, but I think like Oden he will need an affective PF to play with him. Oden has Aldridge. Who will Thabeet have with him? I think Terrance Williams would thrive with another young wing player. Maybe he could fall to the Blazers. That would be nasty. I think he is really suited to play with D-Wade well, but with Beasley there I don't think it will happen. The Hornets would be another nice squad for him to fall to. But they may draft too late. Clark would be a nice add for a young up and coming team. If he were to fall to the Hornets the would be estatic. The would be able to unload Chandler, though undersized David West would have to play some Center. Most mock drafts have Rubio in this one. I'm pretty sure he will be there. Also, watch where Curry falls. If he gets with a team where he won't have to be the 1st or 2nd option I think he could find a nice place in the league.
BigSpikes Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 1. Blake Griffin 2. Brandon Jennings 3. Ricky Rubio 4. Greg Monroe 5. Al-Farouq Aminu 6. Demar Derozen 7. Jonny Flynn 8. Terrence Williams 9. Hasheem Thabeet 10. Jeff Teague
HollaAtAPlaya Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 There are very few names I see in this year's draft that I see ever making a big impact. Rubio is the one I feel most confident in. I am not on the Blake Griffin bandwagon.
