friedtaters Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Would have loved to see him put on the black and orange of Georgetown College, but hope he does well at UL.
dryz93 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Give Richie some time and I'm certain he'll earn a scholarship before his career at Louisville is over. GOOD LUCK RICHIE!!!
HSBallFan78 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Great kid and one of the better post men to come through here in a few years. Terrible tearing up your knee in the tournament like that. I feel so much for him. I think he will do well at U of L. I expect him to be on a full scholly within a year.
Fastbreak Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Wow... the lengths some guys will go to avoid changing school mascots... Just kidding. Richie is a tremendous young talent with the potential to make an impact at the next level. I wish him the best. :thumb:
d-dawg Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Walk ons don't get much respect. Go somewhere you can play and get an education free and be happy. No one's happy riding the bench for four years.

No one's happy riding the bench for four years. I have heard that there is an agreement that if he walks on for a year he will have a scholarship the last 3 years. From what I have heard he wasn't in a good situation on his AAU team and wasn't recruited very much, but with a big senior year hes had a lot of offers lately. I think UL may have gotten a steal with Phares.
scheat40 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Richie you are the MAN. Way to go you will do good at U of L Go CARDS. And good luck with the knee.:dancingpa:dancingpa:ylsuper:
Log Mountain Boy Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I heard at the KABC all star game Saturday that Hood and Phares were both there in street clothes. I hope atleast Hood can play in the Kentucky-Indiana All star game. Phares won't be able to for sure with an ACL injury.
KySigma3 Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 (edited) Can't wait to see Richie wear the red next year up here in Louisville. Another in state kid that could do great things for the Cardinals. Knowles has seen much success in his first two years and I look for Richie to do the same. Edited April 1, 2009 by Ram Rule 13
LCPATS Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 (edited) I would much rather be a preferred walk-on at a school like UofL or UK then play at a small school. Pitino actually has spole pretty high of him, and one thing about playing for Pitino is that EVERYONE has a chance to play. Edited April 6, 2009 by Ram
Plato Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I'd heard he is likely to get a scholarship by year 2.
