Almost the same lineup that I predicted last year. When Mattie gets back in good shape, look for RD go to right field and Mattie to play 3rd base.

Krumme and Eggemeier will not be DHing, more than likely. Krumme is a vastly underrated pithcer IMO though.

He wouldn't be the younger Maile would he? I saw him play and he is solid. I only know of one other Freshman at Cov Cath so I didn't have many to guess...:thumb:

From what I heard it is not the younger Maile that is the freshman with even a chance of seeing the varsity bench. But who knows? It wouldn't surprise many.

Krumme is a solid enough hitter to not be DH'd for, but I just cant see him hitting for someone else. Very slim chance it will be Eggemeier as well. It appears to be Stayton's or Klein's job, or the more likely choice of simply not using a DH.

I've heard it's PK that will be DHing. And honestly, I really just don't think there should be a DH this year. Like you said, he's a solid enough hitter not to be DH'd for when he is pitching or whatever, but not to DH. The DH should be someone who is going to add something to the hitting lineup and they're probably stronger without..

I would think that this year will simply be about Matty getting stronger and being around the team. I doubt he will play much.

You must remember you don't need to DH the pitcher. Maybe someone else on the field. You may have someone like Stayton who can't really play the outfield, while Isler's at first, and Stayton hits better than say a RFer or whomever, you can DH for them. There's not always a DH for the pitcher necessarily.

What did Krumme hit last season? I recall seeing CCH's stats from last season recently and don't remember him having a very strong average.

Certainly nothing wrong with a .400 average, but he obviously didn't see a lot of PT when he wasn't pitching. Perhaps with Mattie out he'll see more time, though I would think a couple of the juniors might also get their chance this year.
