Corbin 71 South Laurel 35

Featured Replies

I think South will be the favorite next year, especially with St. John returning.

Corbin will be good, returning three starters. Knox loses quite a bit, in my opinion, but return Miller.

I think we may be looking at another South/Corbin final next year.

Corbin will have 3 returning starting seniors and a host of players who have had the luxury of practicing against the 4 outgoing seniors. I look for Corbin to be a very good team next year along with SL and Clay Co.

The said thing is they didn't shoot 29 percent. They shot 23.7 percent. OUCH!

Ouch is right.

Clay loses no one. They'll have something to say about a Corbin/South regional final next year.

I knew I was leaving someone out! Spurlock better start winning more regional tournament games. I'd say Tiger fans are growing impatient.

Gee, what happened to the idea that South Laurel had an advantage because Corbin had a tougher game in the semifinals on Monday night?

Bottom line ... Corbin was the best team in the region, period, and had been all year.

I think it actually helped Corbin to realize how focused they had to be. They certainly were.

I agree that Corbin was the best team in the region and they proved it in the regional tourney.

I'm kind of confused about where you got that most thought South wouldn't

be factor in the 13th Region during the pre-season? Heck, I believe they were rated in the top two in almost every poll I saw and maybe third or fourth in my pre-season poll.

I think some people were criticizing the polls for South not being No. 1. I don't think anyone had South lower than fourth.

My early breakdown for next year has the 13th Region in three levels.

I think Clay will probably be the slight favorite with Corbin, South Laurel and Knox Central in the group with them. KC has four very good guards but no post players.

I think the next group will include Whitley County, Harlan County, Bell County, North Laurel and Middlesboro.

Lynn Camp, Barbourville and Pineville lead the next group.

That looks pretty good. I would probably bump Knox down to the second group because I think Clay, Corbin, and South will be set apart from the rest of the region.

So, Harlan County will come in at sixth? Or, is that in no particular order?

I haven't broken it down that far yet.

If KC had a center, I may have put them first with Miller, Canady, Broughton and Barger returning.

Congrads to the Hounds. Have not seen the Hounds this year, but sure look forward to the Eastern game. I always root for the mountain teams and I wish Corbin the best against Eastern. At 29-3, some quality wins, and this rout over South Laurel this obviously is a team to be reckoned with. Corbin and Elliott would be a great final IMO. Les would probably be tickled to death. Look forward to seeing Crawford, Wilson, Johnson, and Smith in action on Wednesday evening.:thumb:
