Shelby County 42 Simon Kenton 39

SK had the lead through most of the fourth but couldn't convert from the line or the field down the stretch. Shelby moves on to play Henry County in the semis.

Tough loss for the Pioneers.

Tough loss for SK. I had to leave at Halftime and wish I didnt. Sounds like it was a good one.

Go Rockets. May get tougher with the home team of Henry County on Monday. I can't remember though when Henry County ever beat Shelby County.

I cant either, but HC has had there better teams lately and they havent ever played. HC better get them this year because SC is going to be tough as nails in a year or two. Can't wait for the game though, Roy L Winchester Gymnasium willl be rockin for that one.

Nice win Shelby :thumb: Good run SK at the end of the season :thumb:

I look for this game to be very physicial and unfortunately the two best officials in the 8th region won't get to call this one!!!!!!!!!!

oops I meant the Henry County vs Shelby County!! sorry

7 of 15 FT (SK) shooting will kill a team, but neither team played particularly well tonight.

Shelby hit their FTs down the stretch. Difference-maker.

Yes it was. If SK hit theirs, they'd be going back to HC on Monday...NO DOUBT.:madman:

I was very impressed with Cody Chambers. Just a freshman, he has a very nice shot and not afraid to go inside and drive. He did that in the third quarter against Shelby. He'll be a good one for the Pioneers for a couple of years.

I was too!! It was my first time to see SK this season, but I was really impressed with this young man!

Shelby tried to stop him with Boomer Beckley, but Chambers pretty much had his way with him in the third period, when SK rallied to take the lead. Interestingly, the Rockets found some success matching their talented youngster - 8th grader Darryl Hicks - against Chambers.

Perhaps a preview of things to come in the 8th; those two have quite the careers ahead of them.

Chambers played well down the stretch in the games I witnessed. I had no idea he was a freshman until I looked at the roster on Khsaa.org. Sorrell is also a nice player, strange looking shot but he improved by leaps and bounds between his soph and junior season. Thanks to both Buttels and Colonel Mike for broadcasting the games, I listened to both of you during last night's game.
